The Career of Chris Kunitz

He played over 1000 games and won four Cups in his career on top of an Olympic Gold in 2014. He had quite the career for an undrafted player waived twice in his rookie season.

  1. One of the nicest guys ever, and a fav player of mine. I'll never forget his clapper to eliminate the Sens in second OT from a great play by Sid the Kid

  2. One of the few Penguins in my time to be defined by a singular game. That Conference final game in 2017 against the Sens will always be his shining moment. Miss guys like him and Dupuis as a Pens fan.

  3. 2 of my cousins are technically cousins through a parents marriage. I remember how cool it was when they got to go to his cup party in Regina in 07. They then proceeded to the other 3. Always super cool to hear about those stories.

  4. Everyone will remember the 2017 Conference FInals 2OT GWG but Kunitz was also the one who made the play on the forecheck that set up Honry's Stnaley Cup winnning goal a couple weeks later.

  5. Without doubt one of the most important players for Pittsburgh during the Crosby era. He played the game the right way and knew what it took to win.

  6. The Pascal Dupuis/Crosby/Kunitz line was so much fun to watch. Kunitz probably goes down as my second favorite Penguin All-time after Fleury

  7. He was fortunate enough to be linenates with both Teemu Selanne and Sidney Crosby! That is a worthwhile accomplishment!

  8. I still remember screaming when he scored the goal against Ottawa. Also was the first shirsey I ever bought.

  9. Shannon you forgot to mention he was the man who single handedly threw the sens organization into their downward spiral

  10. A lot of people were saying the Penguins didn't get enough for Whitney, who was selected 5th overall. At the time, I mean. But I have vivid memories of that first game at Mellon Arena after the trade deadline. When Kunitz and Guerin came onboard it just felt different. You could tell immediately that's exactly what they needed.

  11. 1200 games in the NHL, almost 15 percent of them in the playoffs. That’s a lot of high stakes hockey.

  12. 4 cups can't be a fluke.

Kind of makes Washington getting over the hump in '18 beating Tampa in the east final with a guy on the team with 4 cups more impressive.

  13. I'm disappointed you didn't mention THAT GOAL in the video (as others have specified what THAT GOAL is, wont do the same here)

  14. INDUCT CHRIS KUNITZ INTO THE HOCKEY HALL OF FAME
