Morgan Rielly goal or no goal? Have your say!

This was one of the toughest reviews I’ve seen in a long time. Did they get it right? Have your say!

  1. The only call the refs missed is giving a delay of game to the Leafs for all their classless fans who threw stuff on the ice.

  2. the first one it was only in the net because toronto pushed bobs pad into the net. Second one play was dead. Either way you look at it, it wasn't a goal. Puck crossed the line after the play was dead and toronto pushed bobs pad and the puck into the net. All the people saying "Their was no whistle" the play was considered dead by the referee meaning it's no goal. Toronto just likes to cry because they lost. You have an argument that Gudas was holding a stick when the OT goal was scored but that's about it. This was definitely not a goal no matter how you slice it.

  3. No goal. I don't know what all the buzz is about. Glad they got it right

  4. There is only a few angles that shown that the puck went over the line, that should’ve been a goal. Horrible call and horrible officiating 🤬

  5. Had it been called a goal, they might have challenged for pushing the pad backwards with the stick. Just saying.

  7. The puck was stuck in between Bob's pad and his skate, which both drifted well past the goal line during the active play, as you can see Reilly's stick retracting after he realized he scored – he knows he scored, for sure. Just because the puck was not in view of the cameras while it was being carried well past the goal line, it does not mean it's not a goal. This is clearly a huge miscall by the refs. That goal should have been allowed, which tied the game at 2:48 remaining in the second period. This could have very easily been TO's game, giving them another chance to get out of a 3-2 deficit in the series. Not to mention that Goon's stick grab on Jarnkrok, which directly caused the OT goal… That's the goal that should have been not allowed… The Leafs should be given back game 5 and allowed to continue the series with Florida to fairly play out their chance to possibly win round 2 to face Carolina… I am fairly new to watching NHL Hockey, but if this travesty of fair sportsmanship is allowed to happen, I'm afraid I have to declare that the NHL is crooked and not fair to Canadian teams… I don't care about the shareholders, as I only want to watch and be entertained by good honest hockey… So, if the money dictates the games, I don't want to watch! All of us Canadians should boycott the NHL…

  8. Lots of good comments. Hack former referee here…if I'm seeing the offensive player trying to play an active puck on the ice around the pads, I let that go. When the player changes from playing the puck to playing the goalie's equipment, that's when I decide I intend to blow the whistle or blow the whistle and either face-off or call slashing/interference to the goalie. This is a quick play with a stab at a puck that was not cleanly secured at the skate/end of the pad and I don't see it as intentionally or only playing the goalie's pad. I'd have a goal call on the ice and let Toronto intervene. This assumes I, as the ref, saw the puck over the line during play and I or my partner had not blown the whistle.

Anyway, just this guy piling on.

  9. The funny thing is that it is mostly leaf fans complaining…if it was the other way around leaf fans would be praising the call.

  10. It doesn't matter what anybody says except the Referees And they said No goal So toronto Do what you do best Cry cry cry

  11. Theres another angle not shown here that shows the puck was clearly in before the whistle and before the stick on the pad.

  12. Am I missing a rule here, that because the cameras do not have x-ray vision to see the puck carried over the goal line, while stuck in between Bob's pad and skate, it cannot be called a goal…? I agree with the comments made regarding the camera footage that visibly shows the puck dropping out from between Bob's pad and skate, and then sliding over the goal line, could not be construed as a goal, as the play was obviously dead at that point – actual whistle, or the new implied whistle rule… lol. But, please correct me if I'm wrong, does the NHL actually have this primitive rule that even though, the puck has logically crossed the goal line, it cannot be declared a goal if no official or video footage captured it, while within play…? If so, this is very shocking indeed… But, I guess it explains why they allow such Neanderthal and savage behavior during the playoff games…? After seeing that clip of that complete Goon yelling at poor rookie Woll, brought to mind similarities to WWE… What is going on here…? What is happening with the NHL…?

  13. Who the fuck cares? toronto would have still lost given their piss poor performance in that series. They were down 3-1 in the series and had a mountain to climb. One goal decisions that seemingly make or break games only happen to you when your team has already failed you. As a stars fan, there are multiple series that could have gone another way due to missed or weak calls. Instead of crying about it or blowing up their core, they dipped into the prospect pool, dropped some deadweight and kept on hammering. Toronto doesnt have a bad team, they just need to execute under high pressure. At the end of the day, the team didnt fight that much when it mattered and they deservedly lost bc of it. You can blame the refs all you want, your team shit the bed pure and simple. They were way too good of a team to go out like that. I keep seeing the storyline being turned into the nhl has it out for Canadian teams, same ole shit new year. The story should be that toronto wanted florida, and they fucking got em.
