  1. Damn bro you are like single-handedly driving my hype train for this coming offseason! Content's been super fun lately. I like when you keep em short and sweet like you do, makes for easy watching!

  2. Anyone knows what Pat Brisson is looking for ? May be MTL is ready for a 8 years contract but Brisson would like a shorter term to get the jackpot in 3 or 4 years ?

  3. Caulfield does have the skills. However I fear he could be another Benoit Brunet. Getting injured all the time. His recovery time seemed exceptionally long.

  4. Why tf would leafs fans be nervous about matthews not signing? Dude disappears in the post season.

  5. MOntreal need to size up. with more gritty type of players specially 3rd and 4th line. number 22 has a place in mtl. but not at any price. Habs have a problem already with the salary cap. bad contrcats from the Bergevin years.

  6. NYRs will give you #1 overall, French boy, Alexis Lafreniere, for Cole Caufield, straight up.

  7. $10M??? R U ON CRACK??? The kid hasn't scored 30 goals and is a huge risk of being injured. Then what?? We have another guy on LTIR? I love Caufield, dont get me wrong, but if he can't sign for $8M for 8 years, the maximum id give him is $8.5, and if he doesn't want that, id give him the $9 or $9.5 and then trade him. Cole Caufield is great, but he isn't integral to this build. There is a lot of talent out there we could sign for that much money. This might not be the popular opinion, but whatever, it is what it is! lol.

  8. Cole just missed half a season… Cole has a great shot… what else ? Grit ? What has he won ? Bridge contract is a must. No more that 6M x 3 or trade him. He must remain a RFA after this contract. Spread the CAP, not like Toronto.

  9. Brisson did the same thing he did with Luc Robitaille… And it didn’t end well between them.

  10. i think long term deal would only be good if it was for less than 9M a year. more than that, theres just no discount. Cant pay the guy 10M for 8 years if he hasnt done anything yet

  11. Add in the fact that 10M is 6.8 in Canada or 5.3 in California whereas it’s 7.8M in Florida or Texas.

  12. Cole is the second-smallest player in the NHL. Not exactly a forechecking, down-low, puck-retrieving winger. He's a natural and PP goal scorer but he's also going to get crushed(injured) in a league full of 200lb plus wingers and defencemen.

  13. Well the Habs are going to need a longer bench with all of the players according to all of the clickbait tabloid Dubois, Bedard, Marner, Matthews, Mitchkov, Killhorn, Mailloux maybe Caufield signing somewhere else is the solution…but he is the size of a peewee player he doesn't take much room on the bench

  14. Cauffield hasn't proven yet he can be healthy through an entire season and score 40+ goals consistently. He is a small player who doesn't bring much else than goals in his game, he is not the guy who will win puck battles at the boards or bring other intangibles that would add value to his next contract. Franchise players who can move the needle and make other team mates better are the ones who get the big bucks. Suzuki contract is fair and he is way more valuable to the team than Cauffield in my opinion so I would not expect Hughes to offer him much more than 7m per year.

  15. In the last 5 years, NHL contract are going rogue! It make no sens at all. 4 years should be the maximum not 8 years! They didn't learn with DiPietro?? AND THEY SHOULD BE PAY AFTER NOT BEFORE GOD DAMN!!

  16. How long is Suzuki signed for? These two guys are the future nucleus of the Habs for many years if they can lock them both up long term. That, and finding a replacement for Carey Price should be top priorities right now.

  17. If they think that he's going to be a "franchise guy", Montreal really needs to look at the Crosby contract. No, I'm not comparing Cole to Sid, but think that the deal that the Pens signed Sid to was genius, on their part. Ray Shero front loaded the contract so, while it has an AAV, and cap hit, of $8.7 M per season, Sid's actual salary was much higher, at the beginning of the deal ($12 M per) and much lower during his final three seasons (22-23, 23-24, and 24-25) at $3M per.
If they think that he is definitely "the guy", pay him…just do it in a team friendly way.

  18. I like how Canadian teams, especially the O6 ones, talk about their pedigree and status. Then with the other side of their mouth talk about how other southern newer teams have an "unfair advantage". Pick one.

  19. Caufeild max 6M for 4 years after that if he is a the top he will probably worth 10M or 11 M so you trade him right away because it will be a mistake to give him 11 m per year!Cole caufeild to small and will not make it over 30 year old

  20. they still have to pay carey price for the next 3 years… and it’s going to be wired if he makes more than suzuki…

  21. When you have a guy with this kind of talent you’d be bonkers to not lock him up long term. Last thing they want is to bridge him and then end up having to pay an insane amount later. As much as I hate that franchise the devils did it right with Hughes, same with the Stutzle deal, bet on their future. Caufield is worth betting on. Might not be worth it years 1-2 but come years 4-5 you’re propping the GM up as a genius

  22. Real well put together video. Even though it’s often annoying for GM and armchair GMs all across social media, predicting the future of these kids is gonna be the way contracts have to be handed out now
