Say what you want about the way Patty left the team but I’ll never forget the time I met him at the cherry cricket after an AVs win. I went up to him and apologized for interrupting but I just wanted to tell him that he was me and my GFs all time favorite Av. The 3 people he was with seemed so annoyed and one woman made this scoff noise like we ruined her night. Roy stood up and and kind of moved us over and had what seemed like a 5 minute conversation with us about hockey and also asked us about our lives. We didn’t and weren’t going to ask him for anything but he gave us both autographs and thanked us for letting him know and that it meant a lot to him. I’ve met quite a few superstars and he stands out to me as a very down to earth and gracious person. I love Bedsy to death but I really think it would have been so cool if we could have won with Patty as a player and a coach. Glad to see him and the ramparts win a ring!
