I wouldn’t have loved this trade but wouldn’t have hated it either. Fleury would’ve been an upgrade in the 2022 series vs Tampa. Hagel is a cost controlled winger who plays playoff hockey. Not to mention he scored 30 goals this season.

Dubas hated Knies. Apparently Dubas also dangled Knies to get Kasperi Kapanen back, but Shanahan tied Dubas up in an extension cord until the trade deadline passed.

This is 100% bullshit. This is the trade Chicago offered Toronto. We obviously said no and then Chicago leaked it to the media. This is when Dubas called out Chicago’s GM publicly as the trade implied Toronto was trying to move Knies which would hurt our chances at signing him.
And to the person making up that Adam Wylde said shanny blocked this..why are u lying? Adam routinely mentions this trade (with the wrong info that I clarified above) but has never said anything about Shanahan blocking it. I’ve literally ranted about Adam saying Toronto offered that tweet multiple times so don’t BS me.
