I'm getting kind of tired of a fight breaking out after every hit. Back in the day, it had to be an obvious attempt to injure. If buddy was cleanly hit, the response was to rock one of them. I'll take that any day over a (likely) lame fight.
I don't mind the fighting when it's like an on-going battle. Like Ohlund vs Iginla during the series in 04. Two big guys battling for multiple games, lots of hitting, bodychecks, a few more whacks here and there…. eventually emotions boils over and then they're duking it out.
Top Norris D have great D partners to enhance their points numbers. Hughes has … ah.. maybe.. AHL D. He would have 20 more points if he had a better than average partner.
you can throw a clean hit with the intent to hurt a player, and the player who gets called out for it often times is involved in a lot of other things leading up to the hit already drawing the other teams attention to begin with. The hit sometimes is just the last straw. that being said if its a clean hit and someone goes after the player for it then thats what the extra penalty is for. I'd love to see the game progress to the point where fighting is taken out but honestly with how bad the reffing can be at times I also would hate to see players loose the ability to protect themselves and thier team mates. Easy for us from our safe comfortable viewing places to say just shake it off but a little different for them being in the thick of it
The game is softer than ever. Today it's more a game of skill than a game of passion, endurance and willpower. It's emotion that really sells and makes the game great, though.
I think Button is the best of these sorts of guests. He works very hard to be fair but also calls a spade a spade – if you need to check the hands ‘you’re not good enough!’

Banning fighting would be a disservice to the fans. Nobody wants this. The few that do are frankly not real fans of the game
i hope they take fighting out of hockey so another organization can step in and replace bettman and the nhl. a bunch of pussies
90% of todays fights just end up being a dance with a bit of tug of war until one trips over anyway, I don't think they serve much purpose tbh.

Don't sleep on LA in a wide open West
The game is softer than ever today, after all we have to make room for the woke crowd. Women and tranvestites also deserve to be in the NHL. Yah!
All they got to do is give a delay of game penalty to the player initating a fight, if there was no call on the original hit.
Scoring is too high right now, being a goalie sucks these days…
