Who must go? Yamamoto is too small. Kane +/- is too horrible. Draisaitl +/- is horrible. We need a bunch of guys with 50 to 70 points on the season just like VGN who feed off each other. RNH is not built for the playoffs. Ceci is done. Play Broberg full season now so he is ready for playoffs. Ryan is too old now. We could get a bunch of guys for Draisaitl. We need to plan for playoffs so these are the changes that are needed. Pick up 2 or 3 players with good +/- to replace Draisaitl. Oilers still don't understand +/-. If they did they would not be thinking of Connor Brown. All the players on VGN has great +/- ratios. That's why they are so good. Bonus' are stupid because they incentivize wrong things. We need Soucy. We need a defense where everyone in the league fear the Oilers' defense. We don't want Desharnais
Our team chemistry is not good because woodcraft changes the lines every game. Holland is a good Gm, I would way prefer ceci over soucy imo. Ryan graves would be a great fit with the oilers, we need another right wing for the team. Yamamoto is the size of most grade 8 boys 😂. Convince a guy like patty Kane to sign here for cheap, I am sure Keith would put in a good word.
Agree with your two picks. Swartz should have been gone long ago. Yamo and Cece May be gone as they were weaker links in this playoffs. Have turned off hockey until September and the oilers are back playing.
Or Don't trade anyone except the defensive line coach and get him to work with Nurse CICI and the rest till they are up to the task. no extended cap increase and no trade growing pains. get them all to work harder and be trained in taking out the man at the blue line, not puck watching , then they would be an already fit segment of the team. They are just not focused which means defense coach lacks skill or motivation since Playfair was dumped.
Another easier way to go, get the to do their damn job and work them in breaking their bad habits until they do.
Most of the rest of the league defense also suffer from this problem except for a few teams like LA, and Vegas and a few more who focus on their defense as much as their forwards.
Goal tender coach also needs to be pushed to hit new levels and teach glove and pad skills and improvement routines. Skinner needs glove side work especially now that Vegas exposed Skinner's glove side is his absolute weakness consistently.
All this could and should be done in training camp and early season priority regiments to fix the open holes in the skills, other then that the team is pretty solid if those issues were taken care of.
It might be an upgrade if Mike Smith took over the goalie coach duties. He is excellent at handling the puck and was the Oiler's 3rd defenseman at the back. We lack RW depth. Unless Yamamoto is dealt for another top 6 RW project, else I don't think it makes sense even if we got Brown coming in.
The Oilers rebuild was doomed when they drafted Yakupov. In all seriousness, they should blow the whole thing up, trade McDavid, Draisaitl, Nurse and RNH for 12 first round picks. Dump their budget into scouting and they could maybe win in 7 years. The team is top-heavy, not deep, like the Leafs. Make the change now or we'll always wonder what could have been.
I actually like yamamoto but I understand his production isn’t up there with the rest of the pack. As for Cici, I’m not seeing a reason to trade him. Everyone’s plus/minus was terrible this playoffs. How about trade yamo and get a solidified tender for net. Not going to win many games letting in so many goals.

Mayfield is the perfect guy to replace ceci. He would calm nurse down and stop him from ruuning around. Also he would help the pk.
