  1. I got a better idea than both of these fools. How about you get an interim GM, and have that GM be a teaching tool for Spezza, so he can become the GM rather sooner than later..

  2. I can't understand why Marner is talked about as trade bait. He had 14 points in the two series and was Plus +7 third best on the roster. Nylander, finished the play offs with 10 points and Minus -4 fourth worse on the roster. That means Marner was on the ice for 7 of the opposition goals where as Nylander was on the ice for 14 of the opposition goals. Marner had more short handed goals and points, he had more power play points. They have to keep Marner.

  3. I will say it is impressive that Nylander is so hard to knock off the puck, but his problem is he does very little to get the puck back. He has the " oh I got beat for the puck there" move down to a science. And he keeps the puck so well because he wants to get a shot, he is rarely looking to set someone up unless he has no where to go. I wish people would stop bad mouthing MARNER. Also Mathews needs to get in better shape, he seems to have slowed this season, that's ok but get back at it.

  4. More than Dubas, I feel like the Leafs country club atmosphere is to blame for their lack of playoff success. The players are treated and catered to like Stanley Cup winners without coming close to winning the Cup, especially the core 4. No urgency or desperation in their gameplay, no accountability, coaches who make excuses for them, and 3 out of the 4 are amongst the top 10 highest paid players in the NHL. Do the Leafs need a new GM? Probably. But what they really need is a culture change.

  5. lol and just like that, on to the next. Just shows it really doesn't matter who the GM is now; the core didnt get it done and WONT get it done. TOO SOFT

  6. Too much money was paid to Tavares,Mathews and Marner who never won anything in the NHL. Teams should only experience Salary Cap issues after winning the Stanley Cup not in their quest for the first one.

  7. What a joke, Shany rubber stamped all the decisions that lead to 6 first round exits before they finally put together a team capable of winning one round and Shany wanted the failed Dumas back up until this week, Shany needs to be fired as well.

  8. The Leafs should consider not only hiring Mark Hunter as GM of the Maple Leafs, but his brother Dale as head coach.

  9. Oh no, the Soo nepotism is broken after Dubas not retained. Two former Soo associater let go in the Marlies coaching staff !

  10. It is human nature that if you don't pay your dues, then you develop a sense of entitlement that we refer to as being 'spoiled'. Dubas' behaviour over the last few days would indicate that this is exactly what happened to him. Get someone who has been working their tail off and has developed some genuine competence… never make someone King that has not apprenticed under true masters for a very long time. Dubas reminds me of the young teacher that wants to be friends with their students.

  11. The only one I would say is a must keep is Marner. Every single situation you could ever find yourself in, he's the one you throw on. 1st line, 1st PP, 1st PK, etc…

  12. Brad Treliving didn't exactly cover himself in glory by getting rid of Tkachuk to get Huberdeau. Why are we thinking of someone who, at his best won all of one round, and then missed the playoffs the next year. Shouldn't we aim to find a winner, not someone less successful than Dubus.
