As much as I dislike the Panthers, I would call that a good goal.
Pathetic. Refs ignoring physics to call this one off. Slight contact comes right to left, goalie goes left to right and it's interference.

Don't know why Florida is upset. They scored right after this to win it.
Hold up, they got a critical goal against the leafs by illegally grabbing another players stick and that was counted, meanwhile this is overturned?
Ahhh, too bad. It's always cool when a lesser known player scores an playoff OT goal, especially a tough little guy like Lomberg who struggled to even have an NHL career.
Two things to note on this play:
1. No it wasn't offside. The puck does exit the Hurricanes' zone, but it is a Hurricanes player that brought the puck back in, therefore no offside.
2. Yes it was interference. The Panthers player enters the crease and makes contact with the goalie. It doesn't matter that the Hurricanes player was blocking him because the contact with the goalie was already made. It also doesn't matter that "he slid to the right so the contact 'helped' him". First off, he slid across because that was where the puck was. Second, the contact knocked him down which impeded his ability to slide to the left to save the puck, therefore no goal.
You can disagree with me all you want, but going by the rules, the refs made the right call. The problem is that goalie interference is so inconsistent that I'm sure almost identical plays still resulted in goals.
Oh yeah, and those who think "Oh they made the decision in Toronto so of course they're against the Panthers" should get a life.
Every time you get a decision like this you get to see what team the league wants to win.
This is just my opinion. But from my perspective it looked like Drury shoved White into Andersen resulting in a open net for Flordia to score on

I'm an old hockey fan, sixty five now, but admittedly haven't really followed the NHL in probably fifteen years. I also admit I am not overly familiar with the interference penalties regarding the skaters with the goaltenders, so could someone explain this to me? It looks like the Florida player was pushed into the goalie, BUT, was he not supposed to be that close in the first place? Confusing to me. Thanks.

Think… the people in the situation room analyze these goals as their job. I cant imagine being that inconsistent in my line of work. I wouldn't have a job.

Im not a Panthers fan because they ruined my dreams beating the Leafs lol but…. Florida won here. I dont agree with the call. They got the W in the end though. Maybe they can give that horse shoe to us next season.
