   Had hoped he would sign. I know we almost certainly asked him if he would sign with us in the pre-draft interviews, but I still get a little bit worried. At the same time, he finished 2nd in the Hobey Baker award and lost in the Frozen Four final, so I understand him in that he has unfinished business with the NCAA.

   Unfortunate for the Yotes. I really was hoping to see Cooley play alongside possibly Keller and/or Maccelli next season. I do understand why he would choose to play another year though. Unfinished business and an NHL franchise is chaos right now.

   I was honestly hoping he’d stay in college.

   It’s the smart thing to do, the team’s not exactly making a playoff push next year, and there’s no rush.

   I’m a bit worried he pulls a Vesey. I get that he was close to a National Championship but it won’t be the same team without Knies. Also Eichel missed on a National Championship team that was close too and he still bounced to Buffalo.

   The announcement timing is suspect too with the arena falling through.
