  1. Yes. He made a mistake of trying to build an NHL team into an NBA team though (GSW).. This doesn't make sense in a game like hockey where the rules are properly balanced! You need commitment, consistency, and grit to succeed in the NHL. Star players in hockey rarely make the outcome of a game like they do in the NBA. He deserves a second chance though (only if he shakes it up)

  2. Amazing how the sentiment among some in leafs nation has changed – a loud concert of “get rid of Dubas” seems to have somewhat to shifted to “oh no please don’t leave, Kyle!” Not saying this is everyone, or you reading this so don’t @ me, but it’s certainly interesting how the tone for SOME has shifted so quickly

  3. Dubas and Keefe did a good job this year, again…..improvement every year….. The core did not score. Bottom line. The core, top 6 did not score and we are out. Thats not the GM or coaches fault. Win or learn….this is on the players now. Dubas, Keefe, 2 of the best minds in hockey.

  4. why would this year have been any more difficult than other years the laffs had a great regular season seems not 100% honest and maybe a defensive posture in case of certain future events

  5. Listening to JD Bunkis right now and thanks JD! You speak for us fans who weren't by fooled Dubas' attempt to bring up his family and manipulate our feelings. Dupedus, we want you accountable for your failures, not playing the violin.

  6. Dubas failed in his Core experiment – two small skilled wingers (weak in playoffs) make a weak playoff core. The past 19 years of Leaf playoff failures were fun & interesting for Leaf Trolls. This year the Leafs just performed as an average playoff team level. Don Cherry suggests giving the Leafs one last chance as is. That will be fun.

  7. Why is everyone assuming this is something personal to him/burnout etc. When he made it 100% clear that he wasn't the issue. He said the issue is that it is hard on his family. What that means is unclear, do they dislike how much he is away from home travelling/how time consuming the work is? Are they having issues dealing with harassment from shitty fans that don't like Kyle? A lot of different possibilities, but I'm not sure how "this year has been hard on my family" gets translated to "he finds the job taxing". If it was taxing on himself he would have said that, but he didn't. He said it is taxing on his family.

  8. Dubas time is done he tried and failed in Toronto..I don't give 2 f*** about his emotions or family this is a job either you can do it or you can't..This organization needs to stop with the insanity build a team based on results not predictions..

  9. He talked about how hard it would be to re-sign, or consider other opportunities.

    Guy needs time off.

  10. Let yup-face walk. The tavares signing was a mistake. He got bent over on the contracts for both m and m, fleeced on the kadri trade. 5 years to build a blue line that stinks. An annual spin of the wheel of goalies that now has a rookie slotted as the number one. His philosophy has failed. Let him return to his family and they can console eachother over the hardships of cashing million dollar cheques.

  11. Please more Talk about Dubas and the Core 4 , the Cora 4, the big 4 Dubas, we need more people talking about this over and over again

  12. I think Kyle Dubas should move on with another team and if here is here then the fans should stop going to the games .

  13. Everyone talking like he’s Toe Blake. Who cares if he goes. What has he done while here?

  14. I will always say that signing Tavares was a massive error. that huge contract with up front bonus just set the table for marner and matthews negotiations. PLUS that money would have been so much better spent on a massive mean top 10 Dman. THAT was the thing that set the leafs up for years of failure. been a fan since i was 13 and i am now 55. I now watch baseball f*&k these guys.

  15. Worst GM in Leafs history. By far…..Guy inherited Mathews, Marner, Nylander, Reilly and Tavares basically. Signed all of them to poor contracts at the time and had to work hard to screw up this Golden opportunity. Mike Babcock knew 6 years ago that these idiots still haven’t figured out. Anyone supporting this guy can only be Stockholm Syndrome. This guy will never be a GM anywhere else. Bank on it.

  16. … anyone that wants Dubas back is a gluten for punishment.
Dubas is damned incompetent unqualified and a total loser that will never get any good result.

  17. Coaching stars who already know what their doing is easier then rookies or a team like Airizona they should be taking it upon themselves.
I rather Dubas go to Pittsburgh or somewhere level stress not as high.
And leafs need to see if can trade JT for Doughty/Karlsson cause salaries. If not deal with either willy or Matthew's.

They definitely need Deslauriers,Wilson,Bertuzzi,Domi,Anderson,Lucic,Reaves types so part time fighters arnt obligated like Schenn,or other guys on team.
If your somehow able sign older guys like Kane,OReilly, types if move cap with Willy Matthew's,Murray,Muzzin,Don't re sign Bunting.

  18. If Toronto blows things up, be it management, coaching, and/or players, and it looks as though that's going to happen, then in all likelihood they will take a step back during the regular season, a 10 to 15 drop in points is quite possible, I do believe, however, they will once again make the playoffs and how they do it way too early to guess, p.s., everyone is crying, "trade Marner, trade Marner" but that's a ton of points that would have to be replaced, may not be a good idea

  19. His exit interview was Not corporate friendly. Melting down like that makes the suits nervous. He showed no vision/plan for the future. No rational explanation for the loss. No indication about team needs going forward. If the Leafs re-hire Kyle, it will speak volumes about a lack of leadership at the highest levels.

  20. Wonder if:
Shanny's future plans are to be NHL Commish post Bettman?
And as a total corporate suit, always putting the League first, all TML news will be buried while the focus is on the Conf Finals?

  21. If London loses to the Petes on Friday night, look for the Hunter brothers to show up in Toronto next week., Shanahan will announce that Mark is the new GM and Dale is the new coach. And you can forget Marner being traded.

  22. Laffs should fold the team – and re-enter the league as an "expansion team" – that way they can build their team up from a roster of bottom-of-the-barrel rejects like the Vegas Knights – who as a franchise has eclipsed the Laffs performance every year of their existence. Seattle on their way to sealing that as well….

  23. Perhaps his wife says "I'm not happy. " Kyle is a nice man 👨 and always put a very team together over his time in Toronto. Very very close 👌

  24. what chris just said makes absolutely no sense, tannabaum asked for an extension the board said NO, then in the next breath he says they were working on an extension , im not buying it, the thing that would stress a family out is the unknown and not being offered an extension, kyle promised a stanley cup and failed for 5 straight years , you all forget dubas fired babs but needed shannahan to do it, he was gifted a porsche and put pinto parts on it, the culture he created is soft with NO accountability , dubas cost this team more than what he gained them, from his failures at the draft to his trades none panned out, its funny that after 5 years of being told your building the team wrong after another failed year , dubas is finally willing to change, without ever excepting any resposibility for the failures and costing the mlse 35 mil for bobcock

  25. There is good news. Legendary Maple Leafs GM Cliff Fletcher has a son and from what I've heard he's a chip off the ole block. Hire him.

  26. To Arizona- Auston Matthews 25% retained for one year

To Toronto- two 2023 first round picks Clayton Keller and a 2nd or maybe 3rd in 2024

Toronto gets prospects Arizona gets the hometown kid. Also can work for marner. If they could somehow convince him to stay 😂😂😂😂 which they couldn't

But more importantly Toronto gets cap space also. And a good player in Keller.

I hate both teams btw 😂😂😂😂
