    Roy was a decent coach but he seemed to be stuck in the 90s style of coaching and team building. He is all about big players and will play players over higher prospects because of either size or veteran status. If you don't know, Sakic wanted to go more towards what current NHL is, speed and skill while Roy wanted to go towards a bigger team that was harder to play against but maybe not the most skilled or fastest. I hope he has grown in that area as that was his biggest flaw as a coach or GM

    Trocheck is a bad signing, they should of left him alone now the Rangers are stuck with that contract for yrs to come unless they trade him, lafreniere needs to go he did nothing last yr in the playoffs & did nothing this yr in the playoffs, they might trade goodrow his contract is movable if they do trade some of these guys I hope they get something good in Return besides a draft pick you want a player now that's good not a player you have to put down the minors & let him work himself up to the NHL level.

    My Sabres are moving in the right direction and their AHL Team in Rochester is still going strong in their playoffs. but the NYR have some interesting players I wouldn't mind getting 1 for usre.

    Florida Panthers last year presidents trophy champions this year nobody gave them a thought. Now beating the Boston Bruins and then 3-0 lead on Toronto. Could this be the year of the rat?

    Trading either of them would be a colossal mistake – both players have 40 point ~20 goal seasons virtually entirely 5v5. If you gave them PP time they would get ~15-25 points each and be 30g 30a players not taking into account any additional 5v5 time if they were moved into the top 6 and the confidence that it would afford them. I'm not sure Kakko and Laf will be superstars but they certainly have the skill to become 70 point players if given the ice time.

    They have roughly 12 mil in space. How is that not enough to re-sign Laf this summer and Kakko next? Both have underperformed and have little leverage.

    Young players need a stage to step onto to progress and grow into their potential. They need an opportunity to take more responsibility, be relied on, make mistakes, and learn. The Rangers constantly luck into players who want to be in NY and sign more veteran guys– it limits the opportunity for the young players to step up.

    The Rangers stunted Laffy & Kakko's development by burying them on the third line. They would have done better by them if they sent them to the minors to play for an additional season. LaFreniere is a power-forward and Kakko really reminds me of Patrik Laine. It would really suck for the Rangers to let one or both of these guys walk and Laffy turn into a Jonathan Huberdeau-like player and Kakko to become Laine without a conscience.

    That would be hilarious. I would pay money to see Patrick Roy coach and then try to become GM in new york. It will be such a relief from the Roy to Montreal stories.

    If I was them I'd try to move kakko and maybe Goodrow.

    Patrick Roy could be a disaster … he wants to run the show and too much power, how long before he clashes with Drury. Talk about rolling the dice.

    Trade Kakko? Yes, we're thin on the RW so that's the guy you trade … especially in light of Tarasenko and Kane probably not coming back (unless they're signing VERY cheap deals). They can get more for Lafreniere, especially if they move him to a team like Montreal or Ottawa.

    Thinking Knoblauch is the replacement. He has had experience with some of the players at Hartford, knows and works with Drury well. As for trading Lafreniere or Kakko: never say never BUT it would have to be a cost cutting high end prospect in return. More likely they bring in fast, tough bottom 6 types to fill out roster

    I like Jon Cooper, & Mike Sullivan, and of course, Patrick Roy, and the issue with trading one of the kids, because of their lack of play, but if we would trade, let's, say to get Adam Fantilli! Let's Go Rangers🤘🏼!
