  1. Okay now build it out here in Queen Creek or San Tan please

  2. LunarMoon2001

Good. Such a terribly one sided deal. Tax payer subsidized arenas are always a net loss.

  3. Old_Cryptographer226

Coyotes fans will complain when they leave but not realize their own city didn’t want them

  4. Purehate28

I’m not even FROM Canada… From Southern Cali, now living in Tennessee. MOVE THE COYOTES OUT!! It’s ridiculous that a team should just rot in Arizona… for a populous that doesn’t even want them there. Send them to Canada where the team will thrive and actually have a supportive fan base. This is an absolute waste of money, and years in players contracts.

Seems tax payers are getting wise. Let the billionaire owners build it. Don’t use our money!

Everyone on the internet seems to think the Coyotes moving to Quebec is a done deal. I’m not nearly as confident in Quebec getting a team as I am Houston getting one. Does anyone else feel this way? I don’t care either way but I feel like Quebec isn’t the large market that fans think it is.

I was really hoping that they would approve it so we can stop with the relocation speculation that’s been going on since the dawn of time, but nope.

I’d guess another Texas team or Quebec. Wild Card: they become the first pro team to make a home in…Montana! The twenty people at each game will really enjoy having a pro sports team in the middle of literally nowhere.

Super wild Card: the league disolves the team and we have a sort of draft where the worst team gets to pick a player, and contract, from the coyotes. Go up the standings until everyone is picked (farm included) and watch Keller soar in Columbus

It’s a bummer to hear. Remember playing nhl 01 or 02 and choosing the Phoenix Coyotes for a seasons play. Shane Doan, Jeremy Roenick…and apparently as I look back there’s a tkachuk, Numminen, Juneau, Green, Lemieux and at least 4 more 500+ players missing 3 more 1000 game dudes. That 11-12 year with Mike Smith in the net is another highlight too from the franchise…cheers to some great hockey years and players traveling thru.

  9. Happybirfmas

I get why everyone wants for them to relocate. But I feel for those yotes fans. Imagine loosing your hockey team. Fucking sucks.

  10. HamburgerTime69

I cheer for Seattle in every sport but hockey, so at least I have a fallback team now 🙃

  11. Asu7aMa7u

I know it’ll probably be Houston they move to, but i really hope they go to Quebec where fans will truly appreciate having an NHL hockey team

  12. Skylink56

I got downvoted for saying the NHL isn’t growing. Suck it.

  13. JonTheWizard

“At least will still have the D-Backs…and Cardinals…actually can we have a recall vote?”

  14. George_Washington76

Why don’t they and the suns go in together

  15. Disastrous-Rabbit723

Windsor? They could call ’em the Whitewalls. Instant rivalry with the dinks across the lake!!

  16. shekelxpress

Anyone saying this wouldn’t cost taxpayers is wrong. Infrastructure had to be covered by taxpayers. Estimates are around 200mil.

  17. likeslululemon

What if we move the team to… wait for it… Connecticut.

  18. I wonder if they move if they will stay the coyotes or if they’ll rebrand.

  19. WildWing22

Seeing a lot of people not from AZ chime in, so let me say something as an Arizonan and a Yotes season ticket holder: Tempe fucked up big time by not voting for this deal. Absolute travesty of a decision but I just have to say the manner in which outside fans have cheers for this to happen is sickening and a huge reason why the NHL consistently underperforms in almost every market in the US.

It’s always fun to shit on the Yotes but just imagine for a moment if it was your club that got a raw deal while simultaneously the rest of the league bloviates.

    Sad day.

Would love to see the Revival of Quebec City vs. Montreal Rivalry, but I think we all know that Arizona is relocating to Houston.

  21. _Adverb_

It will be sold to ryan smith and they will build a new area for the nhl and olympics at the draper prison site in Salt Lake county. its already a done deal.

  22. CptGinger316

Saskatoon would be fun. They’ve got the SaskTel Centre, which is a 15,000 seat arena, and it’s smack dab between Oilers/Flames territory and Jets territory. Sure would be fun to see the chaos ensue there.

Plus they wouldn’t have to re-align any divisions if they were to move to Quebec City as it’s pretty central still.

Anything would be better than Houston.

  23. FatherFenix

As a hockey fan since I was a toddler and a Yotes fan since they moved here in 96…

This fucking sucks. Tempe was THE right location for the team in AZ, and this was the most city-friendly arena deal I’ve ever seen here, but local political groups sabotaged the shit out of it. We can’t have nice things here unless Phoenix and a select few politicians benefit.

  24. Look at the demographic though. More boomers than any state other than Florida. Those people are not going to vote for an entertainment district they never plan on using.

  25. Jorikstead

Guys, Quebec City is never going to happen. It’s
    impossible.
