Recap of Kraken vs Stars Game Seven

That was a defensive clinic by both teams, though it might have been Dallas’ best game in these playoffs.

  1. Wait. Why do these teams get so many days off but the Devils had to play the following day after their round 7 win?

  2. Yawn. An all-southern final four. Wake me on Canada Day. I have no interest in seeing any more of these playoffs. But none of them have been on my streaming service, so I haven’t been able to watch so far.

  3. The Stars have been a consistently good team for quite a few years now, if the Av's won it last year after being that team, the Stars can as well.

  4. The Kraken fans in this comments section seem so humble and grateful. It's pretty refreshing to read. Well done Kraken fans on a great season

  5. Wyatt Johnston is a top candidate to jump in any 2021 re-draft . A prime example of the OHL 2020-21 shutdown making scouting very haphazard for these players.

  6. Respect to the Kraken. Tough team. But, the Stars are the most underrated team in the league. And that’s ok, we like being the underdogs. We play better with a chip on our shoulder. Stars best Vegas in 6.

  7. NHL gave both Vegas and Seattle too much of an advantage and set up the draft so they could build contenders right away at the expense of the established teams… teams were very limited in who they could protect… it was a totally unfair draft to the weaker teams in the NHL

  8. Great game winning goal by the now 20 year old kid and its written off as "Grubauer was too deep in his net"

  9. Love Dallas their my team in the west Jim nill has done a great job as their GM I really hope we can go all the way again but win this time .

  10. Sorry Seattle, but this is the year of the Finns in conference finals. 3 out of 4 teams have 3+ Finns for 13 Finns total if we include Teräväinen who looks poised to return and 3 out of 4 teams have elite Finnish centers leading the charge. Could not be more proud of this generation of talent!

  11. Im a Stars fan and I would like to applaud Seattle for their effort. They played tough throughout the series and really gave the Stars fits. I think that in the end, the Stars were just the deeper team with more gas left in the tank. Hats off to the Kraken for an amazing run.

  12. These third and fourth rounds will possibly be the lowest rated in league history; I know I'm not watching any of it, but I'm happy for Shannon and for the die hard fans who will enjoy the excitement.

  13. A lot of pundits are picking Vegas, but hey the Stars are used to that since they usually get no love!

  14. I love my Seattle Kraken team! How about that goal at 17.6 sec by Bjorkstrand? Grubauer and the whole team were dealing with a lot of pressure from Dallas, who really brought it, but Kraken NEVER QUIT! Even in the last seconds of the game they didn’t run out the clock and never gave up! I love that! They play with so much heart, and win or lose, they’re a real joy to watch! I’m glad we gave this mighty Dallas team the fight of their lives! Aside from Vegas or the Panthers, I think very few teams could have given them so much trouble quite like Kraken did! I’m proud of how Kraken went from the third worst team in the NHL to the third best team in the Western Conference in one year! It was one hell of a season, and I’m excited for next year!

  15. Seattle’s still got a bright future. I think Francis did a great job with their draft last year and this year they got 3 seconds. Grubauer needs to at least be above a .900 save percentage if Seattle can be top 3 in the pacific. Also I would like to see more Shane Wright next year.

  16. This one hurts, but I am so incredibly proud of Kraken and their accomplishment this season. They shattered expectations, beat the defending Cup champs, and took Dallas to 7. Played as a team with depth, grit, and determination. It's awesome to witness how this playoff run has gotten so many more people in Seattle into hockey on top of an already solid fanbase. This whole playoff run brings back childhood memories of the 1994 San Jose Sharks and their improbable Cinderella run which got me into hockey. Despite being new to the game, the excitement of that run (incredible single season turnaround upsetting #1 Detroit in 7 and taking Toronto to 7 games) made me a hockey fan for life. Now the same thing is happening here in Seattle and I'm seeing friends and colleagues who weren't hockey fans before become diehards. It's incredible. Best of luck to Dallas and I'll be rooting for Pavelski in particular

  17. Well. Guess we’re facing Deboer and getting a bubble rematch . I want REVENGE . Should be a great series though. Somehow feel like it’ll be much lower scoring compared to the Edmonton series . Edmonton felt like pond hockey at certain points and we had Skinner figured out by the end. Figuring out Oettinger? Not gonna be fuckin easy. I will say that kid fuckin scares me. If we get goalie’d again I’m walking into oncoming traffic lol

  18. This is why I’ve never thought DeBoer gets enough credit, when his teams make the playoffs they’ve only lost in the first round once

  19. Vegas and Panthers havent won the cup yet, Canes and Dallas did but it has been a while. Glad to see someone who will feel "fresh" to win this year.

  20. The big thing I noticed was how much the refs let the teams play. I enjoyed it more. They only called 2 pretty obvious penalties, and both failed to score. It was probably the most enjoyable game of the series to watch as a stars fan. The problem with The Stars this year is they can be the team that scores 4+ goals and lose or keep the total goals from both to 3 or less and still win. It’s actually enjoyable watching the stars backcheck being decent last night, and not playing on their heels after getting a lead

  21. The Kraken run was fun to watch, more fun than any canadian team run for that matter. Dallas got lucky with that one, Oettinger was on form and the defence was on top of the Kraken all night. a good shut down game for Dallas.
But can they do that to Vegas? i don't think so.

  22. I'm a sad Kraken fan but I ust say that the Dallas fans I encountered were all classy and respectful. Much ❤. And please please please crush Vegas.

  23. There was a moment in this game where Pete DeBoer was patting his guys on the back on the bench, looking calm and almost like he was having fun. That was the moment where I thought to myself "yeah, Dallas has this." I'm not a Dallas fan but I'm a fan of DeBoer. He seems like a good coach.

  24. I’m reminded of Joe Pavelski’s first game back after concussion woes even. It was like a movie- 4 goals, including precision tip ins and one batted out of the air… This is gonna be an awesome conference final!

  25. There goes the last team that I wanted to win, idk who to root for now. I guess I'd rather see a new team win, so I'll pick Florida

  26. any chance Seattle might be interested in making a deal with the leafs a touch more scoring offence could push them over the top looks like nylander might be available
