The Dallas Stars Sink the Seattle Kraken & Head Back to the Western Conference Finals!



The Dallas Stars defeated the Seattle Kraken by a score of 2-1 in their game 7 matchup on Monday night in Dallas. The Stars were lifted to victory courtesy of goals from Roope Hintz and Wyatt Johnston. The team played excellent as a group and made things difficult for Seattle who looked a step behind for the entire game. Today we dive into the reasons for the Stars victory and hear some postgame audio from Jake Oettinger, Wyatt Johnston, Miro Heiskanen and Pete DeBoer

    Great response from the entire team (except for Robertson). I don’t think we can afford to go another series without him stepping up and playing like he did in the regular season.

    We give praise to the players all the time, and rightfully so. They are the guys in the trenches. But without Deboer, Spot, and Nasreddine – I think they would’ve been giving that end of season presser a lot sooner.

    They made tweaks every night to squeeze out those wins. And just because a skater was scratched didn’t mean they were written off for the entire series.

    Now they just need to plop Robo in front of a TV and have him watch Bloodsport or Commando to get some more grit by Friday.

    Hey dane i'm feeling great thanks for a great podcast is always. I will say the anxiety level was high yesterday but it was an amazing game and defense did the job and needed to do. And I'm gonna go ahead and invite you to I am doing a podcast. Dallas Stars hockey minute. I wonder what it would take for you and I to collaborate maybe on 1 of these together .

    People just continue to underestimate how good the Kraken are. They were the best 5on5 team in the league this season. They were a fast high scoring team at even strength and they led the playoffs in scoring 5on5 as well. They had 19 different goal scorers throughout their 2 series…..NINETEEN!! They also led the playoffs in hits, blocked shots and were second only to Carolina in PK. They were playing loose with house money the whole time which made them an extremely dangerous team for ANY team as the defending champs found out. Every time they looked dead they came back in games and in both series which they trailed 3-2 in both. After losing back-to back games in both series they came storming back. Yet it was the Stars who overcame the "team of destiny". I feel Dallas is far more talented and well balanced than most of the critics are acknowledging and Vegas is about to experience what they already know and the rest of the experts obviously don't. Vegas would have had their hands full with the Kraken and most likely would have found themselves in a game 7 as well. Should be a great series with a rematch of the 2020 WCF only this time Pete's coaching the other side which is a crazy story in itself.

    As much as i love this squad and we can all appreciate how far the stars have come since last season, we all know its just going to be another series of the announcers praising the ever living shit out of the vegas and Dallas will be the underdog again. I am all for it, i think the stars play better when they arent the favorites but my god that shit can get annoying sometimes. I dont want non stop praise going towards dallas either, im just tired of plays that are ignored bc of a long winded nothing burger speech about the other team.Especially when we are playing at home.

    I want to dote on Wyatt as much as any Stars fan, and that finish was unbelievably magnificent, but you didn't even mention the pass from Daddy. He wasn't just exiting the zone, he knew what he was doing. The fact that he had the wherewithal, the vision and quick decision making to launch that puck down the ice with the accuracy he did was almost as insane as the goal itself. He put it high and hard enough to reach the other end, to the outside of the trapezoid, and still straight on to the back board so it rebounded directly back to Johnston. The whole sequence was one of the most incredible things I've seen in a playoff hockey game.

    I was wrong about Game 7 and couldn't be happier about it. Oettinger saved his best for last.

    And if Robertson gets it going against Vegas, so much the better; the Stars will be that much harder to beat.

    Excited, but have to be honest, Stars have to be much better to even contend with Vegas! Golden Knights are the most complete team left and are a tough outting every time. I’m excited to watch this one and I hope out defensemen can pull it together after an overall pour Kraken series.
