  1. I would've loved to see this version of the Canes against the Rangers in Round 2, but in their tradition to disappoint a great goalie, the Rangers had to deprive us all of that matchup.

  2. Yeah, Canes were dominant, but they are very much in a "win now" state, while the Devils should only get better in the next couple of years.

  3. I don’t why people are always against the canes…they don’t believe in this team then when they do it they are shocked…you all probably had devils winning

    Edit: Sorry if I sound
    dumb but I hate when
    people underestimate us

  4. What defines being a superstar? if I’m building a franchise I’m taking Aho over ~90% of the players in the league.

  5. It's the Puljujarvi effect, he brings happiness to any team he joins. On a more serious note, well done for them given all the injuries.

  6. Canes deserved to win, and I ain't even mad. This was a record breaking season for the Devils, and they're only getting started. Hughes, Hischier and Mercer have even more upside. I think Bratt is at his peak. Luke Hughes played what, 5 games this year? I can't imagine how good he will look with a full season under his belt. Not to mention we still have 2nd OA pick Nemec and 7th OA pick Holtz cooking in the minors. This team is still a ways from peak form, and I can't wait to watch them reach it.

  7. Thanks for the coverage of the Canes. That last goal by Fast almost became a completely different highlight. Let's just say it almost went off his second stick. May have been a low sticking penalty if ya knowwhatimean

The Devils should be proud, they went deep during a time that's supposed to be their rebuild. Some are saying to fire their coach, but he did an amazing job getting this team where it got. Plus they had the honor of keeping the Rangers out of Raleigh. A task that bonded Canes and Devils fans alike.

I hope we get a matchup between Canes and Panthers (not just because my bracket has that, but also because the Staal matchup would be cool and I love the underdog story). I'm proud to say that the Cackalacky Hercules move on to the next round.

The future of the east is weird. Panthers, Hurricanes, Devils, and Sabres with that goat jersey they got, someone's gonna have to stop being the red team. I vote for Panthers to get a Miami vice colored uni and the Hurricanes to switch to purple and teal like the other NC pro teams (though I'm biased being from Charlotte). Devils look better in green and red, Sabres goat uniform should be their standard

  8. I’m a devils fan glad they had a great year but Carolina was the better team and I think they are built to go far

  9. "They don't have a superstar"… You mean they don't have a 50 goal scorer. Sebastian Aho is a superstar. You won't find many centers that play both ways, kill penalties, produce on the PP, and is basically a point per game player in the playoffs.

  10. Canes vs Panthers would be so much fun to watch. As for the West, I’m not sure who’s going where. I’m cheering for Kraken, but Dallas has vets like Benn and Suter and a star (no pun intended) goal tender in Ottenger. Meanwhile it seems the Oilers are playing with their food instead of just doing the damn thing which might bite them in the ass if they aren’t careful. The east has been soo much fun to watch as a new hockey fan.

  11. Rod is a genius at coaching the canes. He has built carolina for play off hockey and it shows. He expects work out of all his players. He wants a cookie cutter team…basically you can expect any player to step into someone elses role and pick up the slack. Its the reason why they have so much depth despite key injuries that would normally cripple other teams. He conditions his team for beyond 3 periods and thats why carolina is the most dangerous OT team to play in the NHL.

  12. Highly disagree that Carolina doesn't have a superstar right now. Sebastian Aho is certainly that, he's just CRIMINALLY underrated

  13. It blows my mind how canes don’t get the coverage they deserve. I’ve been seeing everyone talk about how devils lost and how they’re still young and how theyve got great potential over the years, but than just an acknowledgement of the canes being consistently good. But they’re not blown away about how good they are. Canes are taking the cup.

  14. Everyone talking about Aho being a super star and he’s great…. But Slavin is a real fuckin super star man. The guy is a top 5 defenseman in the league idc about anyone else’s opinion. If the canes go all the way he should get the Smythe and maybe just maybe then he will get the respect he deserves.
