No longer the faces of the league. Weird. As a Rangers fan, I couldn’t wait for that to happen, but now I’m missing the good old days. Will no doubt miss these two once they retire.

As a huge Penguins fan it's pretty wild how over time my feeling for Ovi changed. Like, back in the era of the dueling hat-tricks i totally despised Ovechkin. But then something just switched and it turned in to sheer respect. I actually found myself rooting for him after the Caps knocked us out of the playoffs in 2018. Something i never thought i would do. Two of the best player to play the game. We're all lucky to have watched the Crosby-Ovechkin era of hockey
Crosby any day. Ovehckin doesn't know a complete hockey teams play checking roles, offense, etc. Take a look at some of Canada's past teams. Everyone on their team played an offensive role and ultimately lost.

Pavel Datsyuk still much better all around player in every aspect of the game. But these are still great at standing above the face off circle and poaching goals.

#1 and #2 were spot on, in the correct order. As someone who’s played hockey most of my life and watched it even longer, those top 2 goals were plays I had never seen before and they show not just world class skill, but ridiculous improvisation.
its impossible to say who is better, Ovi or Sid, just like it is impossible to say if Dominick Hasek is better than Patrick Roy, they play the game differently, ovi is a goal scorer he dominates by combining his size and power with his silky smooth hands, just like Lemiux, whereas Crosby dominates with his vision for the game, quick bursts of speed, exceptional hand eye corodnation, patience and pinpoint accuracy to beat the goalie up high. They dominate at these two aspects of the game and up until Mcdavid joined the league they were no doubt the best at these attributes. Truly exceptional hockey players.
