This would pretty much be a perfect timeline (barring a Cup win obviously). If you HAVE to lose, losing in the 2nd round is the best time to do it.
First round exit = embarrassing
Conference final and beyond = you get too invested and hopeful, it’s too painful
Therefore, a second round exit is the ideal losing scenario
