personally, yea the contract was to long… but i really wanted to comment on what you said.. i dint think he is saying hes not worth the contract. Lou has never been a fan of the long contracts. i think he was saying that he gave more then he wanted to.. Or on another note he could be covering a fuck up when he traded 2 guys and a pick and said FUCK now i need to sign him now and gave him a crazy contract.. at this point i just hope barzy and him really connect over the next 7-8 years

It is an odd comment to be sure. When you are 80 the filter fails. But it is factual. he will be on a contract until career game 1300+. Almost every 8 year contract is too long. That being said if we want talent you have to overpay.
GM's need to be saved from themselves, and that's why there are salary caps. I guess the real reason these guys get overpaid is due to player agents, but it's a huge pendulum swing from the pre-WHA days when players were way underpaid and treated like crap. Obviously neither end of the spectrum is good for hockey and the fans suffer because there are not very many ways to improve a poor team when the GM does stupid shit with the owner's money (Jim Benning was the poster child for this, but they're all bad.)
He’s 80 years old he had to give 1 last major contract before he retires from being a GM. He doesn’t love the move, but he understands he needed to make a move before he retires.
The GM said what?!?!?!?!? How is that possible!!? He gave the freaking contract. I need to hear it from him direct to my ears. What was the context? This has to be fake right? Why am I even typing..
I think it's the owners who along with the fans want to win. The advantage of having billionaire owners is they want to spend. Lou is old school so not an out of character statement by him.
Horvat will be 35-36 years old making 8.5 in his final year of this contract. Of course that is not too much and too long of a contract. LOL. But this is nothing new. Toews is making 10 mil. at age 34 and he will be getting around 40 points this year. GM's and teams will never learn.
Ofcourse it makes sense. Even if they wanted to sign him for 8, Bo could have said no. Bo had lou by the balls because of what Lou gave up, he has to extend Bo. If he lets him walk at the end of the season he looks like a moron.
Canucks once again traded the heart of their team, remember Trevor Linden why does the Canucks management keep screwing up ? Why on earth would you keep a guy like JT Miller who yells at his goalie on tv over a team leader like Bo Horvat???? Makes absolutely not one bit of sense 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
It was sarcasm and if you recall they tried signing Kadri in the summer however due to cap issues and being unable to make a trade to make room they were unable to and he signed with Calgary

Hey Man love your videos why are you not streaming anymore.
Who says that about a player they just signed and traded for??? What .. feeling for Bo
He was joking or did you all not watch the interview. Clickbait idiots
He is right. So glad the Canucks did not sign that contract.
Well he wasn’t referring to bo specifically he was making a generalization that most contracts today are too much money and for too long

Islanders paid for Horvat's potential moving forward especially for playoffs.
Those literally weren’t his words did you just see a headline and say fuck it I’m going to run with this?
Its better than Tavares contract!!
That Kovalchuk contract is still haunting him.

Also, do you honestly think Bo wouldn't get 8.5mill + over 7years (max length allowed) as a free agent on the open market? Gtfoh lol..

It was this or trade him away before the deadline.

Dummy

Must be related to Biden

It’s not the gm that finalized the contracts it’s the owner
It’s too much for Bo and the Canucks we’re smart to steer clear of that commitment.

Canucks need Jack Reacher to put some heart in this team 😂

It was a joke lol. He laughed and the media laughed…
Islander's have always overspent!! Dipietro still getting paid.
It's a joke my man. FFS
