Well they tried when it was “do or die” as promised and everyone here seems to have eaten it up. Most rational people would have told you it was do or die in game 3 when they laid an egg and showing up and playing after is too late but this satisfies r/leafs. This is why it’s near impossible to dig out of a 3-0 hole, because you can play your best and lose over a single game.
Instead we’ve got effort, getting goalied, refs, and the disallowed goal. And while all of these are factors, going down 3-0 as favourites was unacceptable and let’s not forget that’s how this happened even if the games in a vacuum contained effort. It’s also funny now people care when the Leafs get the better of play, we had no issue with them being outplayed by Tampa and winning back when results were all that mattered.
Glad to see Rielly and Nylander front and center.

This one stings even if we were up against all odds to make it out of this round. Going down the first 3 games is hard to come back from. Losing Sammy and Knies were a blow to us as well.
