The Hawks should not get a first overall pick to pay for the scandal. It's like getting rewarded for wrong doing.
Yea I hate the fact they won the draft lottery. 😒 they could never win a cup with him. They are expected to now but it doesnt mean nothing. Look at McDavid for instance. Never won a cup yet and he is the best player in the world currently.

I'm an Avalanche fan and but I'm from the Stateline of Illinois and Wisconsin. Minnesota is the team I can't stand the most follow closely by Chicago which is due to the fact that they use a Native American head. I always thought it was unappealing to use it as a logo. My middle school used it and I didn't like it then. I do love the rest of my Chicago sports teams though especially my Cubs! Too bad they can't switch the logo to a black hawk instead. Also, ditch the red jerseys as well. Then maybe I'll like them a bit better. I personally wish he wouldn't go to that team due to that Kyle Beach incident. I did see a post some place here on YouTube that Connor Bedard had a family member who played for Chicago back in like 1950 or something. Well, I have to say it will be easier to watch this kid play because I usually watch the Avalanche when they come to Chicago if I can manage to see them. I'm hoping to see him this next season IF they draft him. The only reason I can see them not doing so is because of his size. Which I don't think will matter due to Patrick Kane being only 5'10. I wonder if this would also change things with Toews? I feel like we are personally seeing his replacement for the next Captain. I personally would see how much he would cost to come back for a year to help teach this kid a thing or two before leaving.

Kane and Toews were dropped into a young super talented Chicago team on the rise with these young players already on the team: Duncan Keith, Brent Seabrook, Niklas Hjalmarsson, Dave Bolland, Troy Brouwer, Patrick Sharp, Kris Versteeg, Dustin Byfuglien. Kane and Toews were very good pretty much from the jump.
With all those picks I 3 years Blackhawks should be ready for playoffs
As a Blackhawk fan I don't think I've ever been so excited about a draft pick. I know we jumped up in 2007 to draft Kane but the hype around Bedard is going to be unreal! We have 42mil in cap space this year and we have 6 first round picks in the next 3 drafts.
They do have Rococ Grimaldi in the system
As a Hawks fan, Kane should’ve waited one more year. He doesn’t fit in with the rangers however he only played a couple months with them. Still know he left too early. Kane and Berdard could be gold, but if Kane really is washed then it’s better to get some new fresh teammates
Elite winger Milan Lucic will be available in free agency this year.

I think that it will be though start for Connor Bedard in Chicago because finding good wingers who can keep up with him will difficult.
U clearly don’t watch many Hawks games because ur assessment of most of these players were off. Understandable if u barely watch the, but then don’t just act like u know about all these guys if ur that off.
Right now I’m just hoping the Canucks trade Podkolzin, Höglander, Lekkerimäki and their first for Bedard. Not going to happen but still…
I think it's worth mentioning the impact Luke Richardson has on the team. There have been more than just a few games this past season the hawks had no business winning but inexplicably pulled out the win (a la Bruins), and I'm pretty confident that was Richardson's and the coaching staff's impact

Skinny from Scott Powers (who has the best contacts of all CHI beat reporters) is that Korchinski is going to play on the big club next year. Vlasic should play full-time in the NHL next season as well. Agree the rebuild will take a long, long time yet to go regardless of Bedard.

Great analysis. You have skill and knowledge on the many topics and makes your content very interesting to listen to while I get my house chores done. However, I noticed the younger crowd seems to despise the Blackhawks while Hawks fans suffered for almost half a century until recent glory. It feels very biased and negative towards Chicago while teams like Edmonton and Buffalo constantly get the #1 pick it’s only our 2nd in 15 years. What gives?
I hope he pulls a Lindros and refuses to play for that shit team.

Being a life long Blackhawks fan, this is potentially a franchise changing player. Hopefully he will have a long lasting Hall of Fame career in Chicago.
As far as signing a UFA to play along side him I would love to see Patrick Kane come back to close out his career with Blackhawks as well as mentor Bedard.

Not as good as people may think at least for a while because the hawks have nobody around him to play with for likely at least 3 years.
You know, I gotta give you props for being so objective here. You admit that you don't like Chicago and that you're probably biased against them, but you gave an incredibly fair analysis and really kept it to the HOCKEY part of things. Well done.
The hawks have the best future for this kid. The amount of picks they have the next couple years and just being able to get him will bring more FA’s. Let’s revisit this in two years and see how good this hawks roster will be. Cbj sucks and always will suck.
I think best case scenario would be bedard reichel and kurashev top line they’re all young too and could grow
I think something people aren't considering about Bedard, is that even on Chicago, you'll see, as the only offensive player(s) on the team, his first line is going to be scoring, win or lose. See: Domi (before the trade), Raddysh, Athanasiou … They were Fantasy hockey productive, despite the losing record, because even if Chicago only score 2 goals a game, Bedard's line will be in on 85% of those goals. I think we're going to see a modern "Marcel Dionne", where Bedard is going to be putting up 100+ Pt seasons, playing for a non-playoffs team for the 1st half of his career there. Cheers!

I think it's pretty obvious that the hawks will sign some decent winger/wingers to play with bedard, they can't go to next season with this skeleton crew of players. They need to give him somebody to play with to keep him happy and not let him get to worn down as a rookie and ruin him. We have to remember that while he is mature beyond his years he's still very young man and susceptible to mental fragility.
