Expected the next bit of news would be he was playing for Team Germany at the World Championship (which he apparently is) but Adler Mannheim of the DEL is reporting he also signed a four-year deal with them.

He is coming off a record setting campaign for the Moose where he scored 20 goals setting the record for goals by a blueliner.

Suspect team will do same as they did with Kristian Vesalainen and retain his rights but it does mean less depth on the right side for the organization.

I wouldn’t want to waste my career playing on a middling Moose team in a 90% empty building every night either, tbh

If he doesn’t expect he’ll get a shot at the Jets roster, it’s hard to blame him

I mean he’s 23, hasn’t cracked into the NHL roster, but has been a staple on the moose for years. Sad to see him go but my guess is that going to play at home is where he wants to be.

Woooow after an 18 goal, 40+ point AHL season we just let him walk. No wonder nobody signs here.

Good for him for getting some money and getting to play at home. Feels like his rookie season was just yesterday (which makes sense given it was 2020). A shame there wasn’t a look for him here on the big club. Best of luck to him!

This sucks. He had a great season this past year and he deserved the serious look at the main Jets lineup. But with the log jam of D-men at the top I can see where he’d want to move faster with his progression than what the NHL team would allow.

Can a player actually make a living in those leagues? I have no concept of what they make

Sucks to see him leave but I’d imagine him and his agent had talks with Chevy at the end of the season about the likelihood of him cracking the Jets next year. Good luck to him.
