I really don’t know why the NHL just doesn’t do the lottery live anymore. It really seems like the draft is rigged at this point and it might be.

Big market teams seem to win these “lotteries” ever year… Arizona gets draft picks taken away for much less. Chicago being rewarded new generational talent for everything that came to the surface just doesn’t sit right with me

Hot take. Habs trade down with Arizona to get their 2 top picks. They select dvorsky with one and then get another 12 overall pick
I really feel like michkov will drop more than that and will smith will be picked before him
I think ducks could seriously take michkov at 2, they’ll be ready to compete once he comes over. Ducks don’t need another center with zegras and mctavish plus lunderstrom. They need scoring wingers and michkov is just that, if not for that contract he goes 2nd. Then Fantilli to Columbus at 3

Your draft lottery odds should be based on a blend of systems like the one have now, plus one where every year since the team has last drafted first overall, they get bonus % in the lottery. It would help keep teams from winning the lottery a few times vs others that never seem to get it

I hope whoever Anaheim and Columbus pick turn out to be superstars. It's disappointing these small market teams always get screwed in the draft lottery. The NHL never shows how they perform the "ping pong ball" process. We just assume it's fair.

Sharks need to draft michkov and since he can't play till 2025 just rebuild and tank till they get a 1st pick.
Honestly I wouldn’t go as far to say bedard will rejuvenate the hawks. They’ll need waaaaaay more than him if they want to become competitive again
