You mean like Martin Brodeur, the best goalie to ever play the game? Niedermayer, Steven's? Common now, the devils have been one of the more successful organizations with many phenomenal talents. Yes the devils have had talent like Hughes before. They had the best goalie ever….

Patty was special, but I truly think (as a devils fan), the only player who could top Jack would have been Kovy. If Kovy from those few years he played in NJ before all the hooplah could be teleported to this team in this era of hockey. I think he easily could've broke 100 points. Obviously hindsight is hindsight. I could say the same think about 08-09 Parise, and Patty easily could break 100 in this era of hockey playing actual with actual speed.
Aside from the 3 Stanley Cups, the greatest day in Devils history was when they won the 2019 Draft Lottery.
This Devils team will win a Stanley Cup in the next 5 years.
At the very least they have never had a forward on the team like him. Kovy was great but I dont think he could even take over a game like Jack.

love the feistiness Jack had against Aho yesterday. showed serious heart. and i think its from this series that Hughes lost that front tooth. and didn't even get a power play from it. so you know he's pissed and hungry to win this

Devils have the worst fans in the league. I remember watching a 2nd round series one year and there were a bunch of empty seats in their building. They don't deserve to win or have good players.
He's a totally different type of player, but no one ever mentions Kirk Muller. Absolute stud on some weak Devil teams. His back probably still hurts from carrying the franchise to the playoffs back then.
