HABS TRADE ALERT – Christian Dvorak to the Habs



In this HABS TRADE ALERT video, I take a look at the recent insane chain of events which led to Jesperi Kotkaniemi being swept away by the Carolina Hurricanes, and Christian Dvorak becoming a member of the Montreal Canadiens. Its been a rumor for quite some time now that the Habs have been interested in acquiring Christian Dvorak from the Arizona Coyotes, and right after the 7 day contract hiatus of Jesperi Kotkaniemi came to an end, Marc Bergevin pulled the trigger and brought Christian Dvorak to the Montreal Canadiens.

I suspect Dvorak will play alot of minutes for Montreal next season, most likely playing on the 2nd line.

    I’m sad, I lost my golden retriever puppy😭🐶 but still I think they made the right decision. My heart was telling me to match the offer, but my head was like « you stupid grasshopper, christian dvorak is better for cheaper ! » A first and a second is not that bad with all the picks montreal have had recently anyways. On the ice it’s a good move, but I’m still sad..

    Dvorak is better and even has a chance to remain better for a while.
    Gigantic upgrade but it's a bit sad we couldn't keep our own pick…
    Now we might not be able to offersheet Necas @ 7000015$ ust for shits & giggles.
    (Those who don't know, you have to offer your own picks in compensation, not any random picks.)

    This screw job by Carolina back fired big time. Montreal is arguably a better team, better contract, better player, reasonable price.

    Carolina is now paying kk 6 million dollars after he only scored 5 goals last year. If they were serious they would have picked up devorak and save on cap space. Now thier cap space is zero. They are a weaker team than last year and realistically could miss the playoffs this year..
    Their defense is weaker and their goaltending is weaker. Their conference is very good .

I just went on every sports channel and none of them are talking about this news I’m staying with junkie for news always now I’ll watch the games on the sports channel but I ain’t going there for news love your stuff junkie keep it up 👍

    Dvorak is very underrated great pick up for the habs and letting kk go was the hard decision but the right choice in my opinion

    I love KK but Dvorak is a potential point per game center on the proper team, he almost hit this slumming in Arizona. Sad to see him go but happy to see him come kind of situation. And honestly expected more picks for this stud, way to be Burgy

    Montreal is better today, and gets a guy in his prime for next 4 years at 4.45 a year. Will kk turn out to be better in long run? Who's to say.

    I would prefer if the KK saga never happened but in the circumstances I’m glad we have Dvorak instead if matching that ridiculous offer.

    The lines now could look good :

    Hoffman – Suzuki – Caufield

    Gallagher – Dvorak – Toffoli

    Anderson – Evans – Byron

    Lehkonen/Drouin – Poehling/Perreault – Armia

    Suzuki Caufield great playmakers (and also sniper) with Hoffman sniper

    Dvorak defensive line

    Evans speed line

    Poehling and Drouin would possibly need to prove themselves first before going up the line up.

    It's great news. KK won't play in the NHL by 2025. He burned too fast. Carolina really screwed themselves

    I wish we had have gone with Hertl, or that they would STILL get Hertl, that would be the best weve been in a long time for the center position, providing Suzuki works out well! Word is they are/were trying to trade Poehling, a 2022 first-round pick, and an additional smaller asset and they r, or were close to a deal, but they need to lock Suzuki up soon, before some team comes and offers him like $10M, and we're really screwed! lol. Decisions, decisions!!

    Can't wait to see what spot they will put Dvorak 2nd or 3rd centre and whether Drouin or Poehling with play centre
    Personally I would love if ttraded for JT Miller that guy is a beast. Picture Miller on a line with big Josh Anderson would be scary in the Playoffs!!

    Montreal upgraded their offence and fixed the huge mistake they made with selecting KK who never panned out…..see the Sidney Crosby career.
