  1. I’m surprised they let go of Gallant so quickly, I thought he was a good head coach but I gotta be honest, I really wanted Barry Trotz at the time however he took the job as GM for Nashville so he’s unavailable, to say the Rangers were inconsistent this season would be an understatement, they’ve been up and down all year, i feel they had a better team last season, as far as improving I think they need to get faster and more grittier, as far as new head coach, we’ll we just have to wait and see…

  2. Fire Drury! He should have traded for Ryan O'Reilly instead of Tarasenko. Getting Kane was a mistake. Kane is old and wasn't the type of player the Rangers needed.

  3. I heard he didn't get along with truba & panarin didn't like him, panarin didn't do shit in the playoffs he's the one that should be gone after game 4 the Coaches & Drury had a argument that could be heard Right outside the door in MSG, if Gallant was fired how come Drury wasn't he put this playoff team together not Gallant, I'm a huge Rangers fan and he should have never been fired I'm sorry he was a good coach, well we don't know what happen we're just speculating what a bummer for Gallant.

  4. Sounds like Gallant was almost happy to go. Thought he was a good coach though. Told it like it was why they lost. Too blunt?

  5. When a coach gets to his presser and says he's not going to go into the locker room and give the players a big speech after game 5? That's a coach's job. I gather from what I heard that Drury was in a shouting match about this. Nonchalant Gallant never built a structure or made the players know their roles. He shit the bed. Period. Plus, Drury gave him a Ferrari and he crashed it.

  6. Zero timeouts called in a 7 game series, zero adjustments made during/between games when it was crystal clear that adjustments needed to be made, 2 straight series blowing a 2-0 lead, buried the young players on the 3rd line and gave them no chance to develop, and the winning record looks nice but the roster has been stacked the whole time he was there. Quite frankly it was a no-brainer. He lost the room. The team looked disinterested in playing hockey by game 4 against NJ and sure there are plenty of players to blame too but way easier to get rid of the coach than an entire core.

  7. Chris Drury Rangers GM should have been fired, he brings in an aging Kane and an aging Tarasenko, has no cap room to sign
younger players like Kiendre Miller, etc

  8. It's funny that this has been Gallant's M.O. fired from the Panthers, Vegas and now the Rangers huuummmmm……………this guy has zero adjustment in crucial games ask Fl., Vegas and NY

  9. You have the right two guys on the thumbnail next to him. He was fired bc he horribly mismanaged Pat Kane from the time they got him. Sticking him w Kreider, neutralizing Kane's offense. By that one decision he wasted Kane, Trocheck and Panarin.

The second part is that he then insanely scapegoated Kane for everyone else's no-show, trying to embarrass him and disrespect him by demoting him two lines and off the top power play for games 6 and 7. This was esp funny bc Kane, freed at last from Kreider and Zibanejad, then put up two games 5v5 where he generated more offense by himself than any other LINE on the team. Meanwhile Zib and Kreider stayed horrible.

The locker room other than Zib and Kreider absolutely loved Kane and had the highest possible respect for him. Not just what he'd done in the past, either. Who he is and his game even badly injured. They knew he was still the best offensive player in that locker room. When Gallant scapegoated Kane and didn't have him in prime positions during the elimination games, he lost the locker room beyond any point of return. Further, Kane could not have respected Gallant, esp by the end. And the locker room also would have noticed that.

Gallant's treatment of Kane both in a hockey sense and a personal sense is why he's out of a job today. Well deserved. Maybe he can spend his time off looking back at the 3 on 3 OTs during which he kept Kane – the all time NHL leader in OT assists – glued to the bench for the whole 5 minutes.

  10. I don't get it, either, but, as I've heard said, time & time again, it's Easier To Fire The Coach, Than The Home Team. I don't understand why The Assistant Coaches (Kelly & Murphy) were not Fired First, or, Instead. The Only Reason I see, is, that it's Likely Chris Drury Wanted To Fire Them, Gallant Stepped In, said, No!, and The Decision was Made. This, likely, explains Why They Weren't Fired Along With Him. Chris Drury Isn't A Man To Be Screwed With.

  11. Anyone surprised by this hasn’t been paying attention. Shocked is just idiotic. TSN reported as well as NHL network that Gallant was almost sent packing before New Year. He is a hands off coach..great … he also makes no adjustments and is clueless on how to get his clubs to adjust the system in order to counter punch. That’s cause there’s no system … Ugh little brains with big mics. Ask Vegas why they cut him loose after going on a cup run. Do your homework gents 😢📄 F.

  12. Not a Rangers specialist… but after seeing Game 7… it's hard to understand how come the "Kid Line" were not 60Pts players in the Regular seasons

And unless you put Panarin with a Center or Winger who can really carry the puck past the Blue for Him… you're essentially crippling Him since he can't skate with the puck @ the show level. Coach should know if my fat A$$ knows!!

  13. The old school players now coaches path is dying. You need true Xs and Os coaches who can adjust without screwing with lines as much as Gallant did. He was WAY better than Quinn but looking for someone who can motivate.

  14. They Lost and needed an excuse that didn't revolve around roster construction. That darn coach. He did it to us.
