nice insight guys. But i think like Stephane Leroux, I dont ever think Mitchkov will put a feet on north american land for his hockey career. This is disturbing , but you probably heard that his dad got k!lled in * very suspicious circumstances * when Mitchkov said clearly he wanted to play in north america. It is a very sad situation and i can only imagine what could happend if he decided to still play in north america.
Amazing news would be if we know he's signing a 7 or 8 year deal. I don't want a bridge deal
The thing with Mitchkov is that he’s locked in until 2026 with a KHL contract, the last time that I remember such a situation happened was with Evgeni Malkin and he had to flee Russia to come here

Would be a big mistake not to pick Michkov, he will be a generational player.
Smart move to not go in on Mitchkov he is too small and may never come over which would be yet another bumbled top pick and the habs cannot afford anymore bad first round picks.
I feel Carlsson is a good pick and of course Bedard but I feel the Habs will get neither so this is going to be a tough pick ….again.Everyone said this was a great draft year I don't see it like that I see lots of good second line potential but only one Elite which means the Habs would end up with another good prospect but not good enough to get us to the top tier.
I have not studied each prospect much because well it's not my job I can't influence anything so I will sit back and wait then do lots of homework to see if the pick was any good.Last year I said Slakovsky was a bad pick but I also acknowledged there wasn't any elite players to pick so yeah an unlucky year for the habs.
What is Hughes going to do with all this 2nd and 3rd line talent only room for 6 guys but of course our best second line option will have to be our first line option…sigh so another LONG season.Then I have to endure all the FALSE hype every time a player has ONE good game people are all jumping on the bandwagon.We had the best Mr.October of all time Brian Savage then went into hibernation the rest of the way.
So people need to QUIT pointing at PARTIAL seasons "oh look at what this guy did"what matters is the ENTIRE season and the TEAM result and so far there is NOTHING to brag about.

It is a deep draft with several excellent players slotted in the top 10 so no need to gamble on Mitchkov who is on the small side and would be looking for a huge wack of the team cap ..If ever he is available in North America …Anyway this is hypothetical until the lottery is set on Monday ..Habs need to pick for skill , size and strength ..

I get it, I agree. Michkov is the 2nd best player in the draft. he is not leaving Russia until the war is over at the earliest. The kids cannot leave the country like they could during the cold war. They are not allowed at international events even.
Explain to me Jesse, how we can get him over? What if the war ends in stalemate and the iron curtain gets tighter? No Russian kids for years and years.
