This makes no sense. He’s a draft bust. Why sign him?
Hopefully the strong end of the year continues. He always had a higher ceiling regardless of how this year went
Second coming of Elias Pettersson, after the defenseman Elias Pettersson.
Elite talent, here we go!
He may come to camp, but I think it’s expected he’ll spend another year in Sweden and have the first year slide, right?
Another year of pro in Sweden and then over to Van.
I really hope the Canucks get a solid dman in the draft this year, if not Bedard haha
That’s a W
Glad to see him on board! Will be interested to see which SHL team he ends up playing for. Would be great to see him with Färjestad so that he could play with Forsell
People were talking about him being loaned back to Sweden if his team was promoted, did that happen? What’s the outlook for him right now for next season?
I love how these things always leak a few days before – and the media pretends that it was just a rumour, when in fact, they were told exactly what was happening by the team…
its an 8×8 right?
We’re becoming Swedish House Mafia
I really do wish our Swedes would play over here and get used to American hockey
I don’t follow the SHL but I like to compare him to Noah Ostlund who was taken right after Lekkerimaki in the first round. They both play on the same team. Ostlund had a better regular season; however, he put up 5 points in 12 games compared to Lekkerimaki’s 15 points in 15 games in the post season.
Seems to have rebounded hard after whatever ailments he was dealing with and is clearly a gamer when games matter most. Hard to hate on that.
Awesome. He really went through a lot this year and his performance to close out his hockey season seriously showed character in the form of perseverance. We all understand now that he isnt a bust, he’s just a teenager who had a rough year in life.
I hope he goes to the SHL and not the AHL. i want to see him to put up 20 goals, ~35 points in the SHL while working on his defensive side against men, on an ice surface thats familiar to him, before we throw him into a completely different style of game. If we forced him to come to the AHL too early it could completely ruin his offensive upside, and at the end of the day he is currently our only top end offensive prospect we have, so we need to handle his development as patiently and intelligently as possible
Whew. I was skeptical of him but I think he’s got good potential. Should be a good player for us!
He looks like a Bond villain.
