It could have been worse, they could have been Baahston. The Rangers lost to a superior team with a better record. Boston was supposed to be an all-time great team and gets bumped by the lowest seed in the first round. Jersey changing goaltender changed the series.
The Rangers had a chance in the first period. Not scoring in the first and blowing two crucial power plays doomed the Rangers. Devils were faster and more aggressive. Bread Man disappeared. Schmid became a star.
Super team? They weren’t far off of a wild card spot. Boston wasted the super team. Best regular season of all time but someone forgot to tell them to play playoff hockey.

By no means were they a “super team”. Focusing their deadline moves on getting Patrick Kane instead of fortifying the defense and depth in front of igor is why they lost. Plus… the Devils are just better🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
Superteam for a regular season maybe. It looked like they weren't trying hard enough and blew the series but in reality they were an old and slow team. They don't have prime Kane or Tarasenko. Kreider isn't a speedster anymore. Panarin hasn't been a playoff performer the last two seasons. I believe they were a highly overrated playoff team, very similar to Boston.

HOW DID THEY LET PALAT KILL THEM. HE KILLED IS IN TAMPA AND KILLED US HERE. HOW DID FOX AND KREIDER GET THE PUCK TAKEN FROM THEM LIKE THAT
Lots of naysayers and haters out there regarding the NYR. Jersey beared down and played well to their credit. The series was lost on Meier sitting on Igor in game 3 and Igor got called for slashing,. Then the Jack Hughes' scored a PP to tie it up, then won in ot. Otherwise we win 3-0, and go up 3-0. They scored 15 goals in 7 games plus 2 empty netters. Let's see 2.14 goals per game. Not exactly an offensive juggernut themselves. I wouldn't get overly giddy about the Devils just yet. They haven't done anything yet but win 1 round. Hughes looked like a Klutz in game 7 falling all over himdself. Then again so did Kreider Fox , & Zibby in the 1st Deivls goal in game 7. Zibby almost blocked the cross ice feed by a matter of inches. Check the arrogance at the door!!!
Now Vladi can get to Florida in the offseason.

Stop the drama. This wasn't a super team and a epic collapse at all. Rangers had a good team but not elite. Kane and Tarasenko were temporary fixes for the playoffs, nothing more. Disappointing, but not a epic collapse. Devils are the young hit team and they showed
The Devils purposely tried to play differently in games 1 and 2, hitting more and ending up out of position because of it. They also played very poorly on the PK, using a small box that negates the speed advantage. They made the changes going into game 3 and showed how good they really are.
Carolina will be disposed of too! They’re just like the Rangers as far as a team always going deep in the playoffs lately and doing absolutely nothing! When we go deep, it’s Finals or bust! And i know these guys these days don’t really hate each others teams like back in the day but i hope my Devils pay back the Canes for 2009 playoffs, i still want payback for that from 14 years ago 😂
Super team is a strong word for a team that finished 3rd in their division and was the underdog in the series but go off. Make this video about the bruins then let’s talk

They didn’t have a superteam. Superteams win. And as for the Devils- they needed to get over their jitters early in the series, and it’s unbelievable that they won with three of their four 30+ goal scorers not tallying anything but an empty netter. If they get hot watch out

The rangers were not a super team a all. Aside from Igor, the rest of team were certainly not super. But they had very superficial individuals. Especially Kane, and sorry to say it but Kreider was highly overrated!

Kane should never get anywhere near the 10million a year salary ever again. He's nothing more than a 900k 1 year, make it through Training Camp kind of guy now…and thats only if he gets a new replacement hip this summer. Its over Patrick. Thanks for the memories.
The rangers had no chemistry going into the playoffs. Kane is slow doesnt forecheck. His linemates have the burden of running arou d in the defensive end while he stands still at the boards. Fox is slow , overrated and horrible in the defensive end. Never will come close to winning another Norris. Won the first 2 games of series thanks to horrible goaltending.
Giving the devils way too much credit here dude. Rangers gave this series away
Can we stop calling them a super team? maybe if this were 2014…. tarasenko and kane are a far cry of what they used to be. glimpses here and there but thats it.

This win couldn’t have been any more satisfying. EVERY year is the Rangers’ year and this year was no different with Tarasenko and Kane. But jersey came back after down 0-2 in the series .. winning 2 games in NY, and then game 7.. scoring 4 goals in 4 completely different ways.. none of which were a bounce or fluke.. just hard work and epic moments.
Just another year for the Rangers. I’m sure NEXT year is the year.. for sure.. certainly.
