But I agree with Maher I would like to see some more accountability from the Players, all those losses against Bottom feeders reeked of players who didn’t care, not a shitty coaching situation.

I’ve said it before, I think the old school style of coaching is accepted by players as long as you’re winning. I don’t think many exit interviews a year ago were overly critical of Sutter because players can tolerate a coach calling them out regularly if it translates into success.
I don’t think last season was Sutter’s fault. If I were to pick one person to blame it would be Markstrom because a modest improvement in his play would have made all the difference. With that said, I think players probably got tired of Sutter calling them out; especially when he kept putting Lucic in the top 6, playing players like Ritchie over young players, and made odd choices like putting Ritchie in the shootout. I bet the average player gets pretty annoyed getting called out for a bad play or decision when the coach is making those choices.
