Habs Draft Lottery Sim, Slafkovsky Says NO to Laval, Final Thoughts on Dubois For Now
Montreal Canadiens 2023 draft lottery simulation, Juraj Slafkovsky doesn’t want to play in AHL in Laval, final thoughts on Dubois to Habs IF it ever happens.
I'm not saying that I would make this trade, but I feel like Josh Anderson (and plus) in return for Dubois makes a lot more sense. Salary wise since they both have similar cap hit but also Winnipeg loves their big player that can play. Also, Montreal would probably be interested in moving him more than any other players that have high values on the team. Also, a Dubois extension right after the trade is probably a most in order to happen. Again, i'm not saying that I would do that, I'm not the biggest fan of acquiring Dubois, but I do think that if it were to happen that would be the most realistic scenario.
The most interesting scenario is Habs can actually draft at 3rd if: Ottawa wins the lotto, moving up 10 spots, to 2nd. This locks in their pick at 2. Then if MTL wins the second draw they get knocked down to 3rd pick.

What will be will be…but if Mtl gets pick#7, and all US teams leap frog to #1-#6…I will call lottery rigged!!! & "BETTMAN CONSPIRACY THEORY"!!!LOL As for Slaf…I would like to see him play in Laval w/good Centers like Owen Beck/Riley Kidney, get a ton of minutes in all situations…OR, more likely, Mtl moves Dvorak, resigns Monahan, and Slaf is paired w/Sean on 3rd line to start the season. Regarding PLD, if Mtl gets him for next season, Dach will need to be moved unless they plan on placing them on the same line together. One of them has to be #2 Center, and neither of them will be satisfied being #3C. I say, if u can get him in a lopsided deal, do it, but if Winnipeg is asking for the moon…wait for next season or PLD w/Mtl was not meant to be and move on.
If Habs keep their #5 i will be happy,dropping i would be very sad 🙁 Just going up to number two would be a HUGE win….The first i will get out in underwear in the middle of the street and singning Queens "we are the champions" I do hope i have to do this…or not 😅.

He has said literally everything except "I am coming to Montreal" and people still want to give up the farm for him. Madness. I am firmly on team wait for him to come and give nothing
As far as slafkovsky goes, actions speak louder than words. Ultimately, it is up to him prove he is nhl ready and it is up to montreal's management to develop him and do whats best long term for him.
PLD value is low montreal would most likely offer devorak and something else minor. But PLD would have to have a long term deal agreed on before any trade happens.
Draft lottery – if you don't succeed, try, try, try again and again… lol 😉 Re Dubois, hey wait till he's a free agent. Enough said. I thought maybe a trade could be beneficial but hey we're not winning the cup next season so why bother (to say nothing of losing key players in a trade). Go with the kids. Great show. GHG 🙂

LaCavallier needs to sit down with Slav and convince him that Laval is a necessary part of his development.
