3:54 it was a thing in Newfoundland ball hockey about a decade and a half ago when I was a teenager. Loved doing weird things.
I was never in ice hockey but believe I could’ve shined. Maybe not. But man. What if. My parents wouldn’t get me in due to costs, dangers, time, etc. excuses I know. I saved and bought goalie equipment and played 2 years in university residence league and it was a great time both on and off the ice. I noticed the changes I’d wondered about once I began playing. How I was treated by both males and females.

Vegas was actually 2-4 on the power play. That was the only thing not right, and I do agree Leon should of been at least the 2nd star
Desharnais is what caused this loss. He passed the puck right to the Vegas player who then scored to tie it at 1-1. He then wiffs on the clearing attempt and Vegas scores to go up 2-1. Vegas wasn't doing anything till he put them back in the game and put them ahead. Rookie D-man screwing up.
Edm is fucked! You don’t deserve to win anything with a 2 player team. No way Edm can compete with the depth of Vegas who are 10+ players deep with scoring threats.
What's the point of doing 3 stars, if it's just embarrassing and not even close
Way, way, WAY too many turnovers. D was proficient at times but disappeared during the most pivotal moments. Skinner wasn't so hot to start this one but improved as the game went on. McDavid being a little too fancy sometimes, trying to find the perfect play alone, sometimes he got through, sometimes he didn't. should consider relying on others a little more. Vegas are a too all-rounded and deep team to play like how Oils did last night and expect to win. Their depth is better than last year, surely, but it means nothing if everyone doesn't chip in.
Also, Desharnais, PLEASE learn how to play D.
I'm usually one to bitch about the refs and while there were a couple shitty calls/non-calls both ways I think it was actually slightly in Edmonton's favor, for instance the first interference call was weak on Vegas. They definitely weren't the reason Oils lost tonight. But with some adjustments they can bounce back – 6 out of the 8 winners from Round 1 dropped the first game, and Oilers are on a long Game 1 losing streak in the playoffs as well. No reason to despair, I know they can do better because I've seen better from them.

No dog in the fight, but a Vegas vs Seattle matchup is something I didn’t know I wanted but now I really wanna see. Two teams with a lot of depth and grit, that’d be so fun.
The Vegas franchise is the definition of narcissistic. From the way they do trades and deals, always looking after the 'next big shiny object', to the fanbase's behavours, and even the fact that they IGNORE 4 goals from the opposing player when deciding the three stars. It just all adds up to them being very unlikeable. HAving said that, I think they win this series. Oiler fans stuffed McDavid's stats in my face when I brought up how their goaltending/defense isn't good enough. Ok. What did all those offensive points accomplish again?? SMH.

I realize that scoring 4 goals is an amazing feat, but does it really matter when you lose?
When the VGK's opponent for round two was established, my prediction was Vegas in 7, which brought a ton of ridicule from EDM fans on social media, many of whom predicted a sweep. After watching game 1, I'm starting to think they just might be right!
What impressed me most was how Vegas demonstrated they've deeply studied the Oilers PP.

Might be nice if the rest of the Oilers decide to show up! Nurse seems to be reverting back to his bad habits in his D zone, and Deharnais was just brutal. They better fix things quick on the Defensive side, or this will be a short series.
VGK fan, but still loving watching Draisaitl. Such a good game. Both excellent teams.

These Playoffs have been crazy. You have a new team crushing it. You have two players scoring 4 goals each and only those 4 players, yet they end up losing. A whole bunch of weird stuff.

This was a heck of a good game. Kept waiting for Connor to bench press the entire rink, he had that "set my jaw and do the impossible" thing going all night long. Can't believe he didn't score, he looked like Vegas owed him money and he was really tired of being put off.
Vinny D is sooo bad. Needs to be benched.
Another West beer league style game! The GN do want want to keep this up against the Oilers. Just play a solid defensive game. With the Oilers bad TEAM defense you will get your chances!
Kids you must play a 200 ft game. Scoring 4 goals in one game is great. Being on the ice for 4 goals against is not great. Draisaitl was on the ice for the first six goals of the game and then for the EN goal at the end. I'm not sure how they have him at a +1. Defense wins cups!!!

I expect Edm to break up Draisaitl and McD…. Vegas' 3 line combos too effective ~ their #3 was their #1 line a few years ago, minus Amadio.
Not that it matters at all but how the hell wasn’t Draisaitl one of the game stars?? He scored 4 goals!?!?
Oilers played their worst game of the playoffs so far. (Except for #29.) Vegas only got away with a one goal lead and a empty netter. I expect a much better effort for the oil in game 2. Will be a very entertaining series to watch!

Draisaitl not getting the 1st star just tells me that home media should lose the right to name the stars. That's offensive to the integrity of the sport.

This one was Draisaitl vs VGK and Drai put up a decent fight. If the rest of the Oilers can get going I really think they take this series.
So now Vegas has joined the fraternity of bad/awful/ridiculous 3 star selections. Wouldn't it be better for the league to make the choices and keep these 'homer' officials away from the stupid choices.
