Regarding the lack of scoring depth: We need Necas to play like in the beginning of the season, and we have dark horses in KK and Jarvis. The question is if they are ready to take that next step now or if it’s too early. And Aho needs to be on top of course.

What say you prove ’em wrong, Canes?

And nobody picked Florida so……

So same thing they said about us against the isles? Alright.

They’re not wrong, and the injuries don’t help us where we need it most (goal support), but we live and die as a team. We can still play our game without those guys and we even did it without Aho and Slavin at one point. Anyone can win in the playoffs and I think this will be a good series.

Are we the least talked about team? I hardly see our name in any conversations over in /hockey or /nhl
It’s not a bad thing. I’d rather fly under the radar personally but it just seems like everyone forgot were still here

The Rangers shut down the Devils in three of the seven games.. absolutely shut them down. The games the Devils won the Rangers played exceptionally bad, so let’s not get carried away on Game 7. I’m guessing Rod has the right plan, it’s just up to the team to execute it.

I think those are pretty reasoned takes and my unbiased opinion thinks Devils in 6 is a fair guess. I do think they aren’t giving enough credit to how good our defense is though.
The game changer this series will be if a forward steps up. A big series from Necas and the Canes win this.
Nolepack
Everything they said seems logical. So…I’ve got the Canes in 6. F*** em

I think they are right on here ,the Canes defense needs to be the difference ,they do not need to get into a track meet with the Devils ,watch the bad pinches
mittonkitten
honestly i take anyone that mentions patches in our list of injuries in the same breath as svech with a grain of salt because he played 3 out of 82 games. it wouldn’t hurt us by any means if he was on our roster, but to act like he’s a huge reason we finished first in the metro is just untrue.
ObiWanDiloni
Do we really want to talk about predictions after 97.3% of playoff brackets were tanked in the 1st round. I think it’s a good match up, but even so, if any team can make magic happen, it’s the Hurricanes.

Cool. Canes in 6.
millard_spillmore
Hot take I don’t see anything wrong with what is said in this article. With the injuries we need someone like KK, Necas or Jarvis to step it up and get hot if this run is to continue. Aho can’t do it himself.
mrbig1999
It will have to be 6 – because I wouldn’t bet against the Canes in a Raleighwood Game 7.
Squat1998
I mean, they aren’t wrong. If we can get to our forecheck and slow the pace down we have a chance. If not we aren’t going to be able to keep up scoring with the devils without svech, patches, and turbo.
