  1. then how would we ice the all slovakian kids line?
yeah i think dvorsky looks fantastic. him, will smith, loeanard, and reinbacher

  2. They wouldn’t draft him 5th overall they’d probably trade up their 17th Florida pick to get him

  3. How about putting all 3 of them together? Mešár, Dvorský and Slafzilla in one line… would be an interesting chemistry

  4. Honestly bro hate that risk reminds me of Kotekiemi and Tkachuk, gotta go with the the proper rankings this year. to be honest i hate drafting euro players cause they might not end up likeing the NA style of play

  5. Best player available. Simple!!! Tired of those reach every time. Bedard, fantilli, smith, michkov are locks in my opinion

  6. Listen if we don't win the lottery and we can pick Michkov and we pass on him… I will probably never forgive this managing organization

  7. Caufield Suzuki Dach
    Roy Dubois Pinard
    Slafkovsky – Dvorsky – Mesar

    🙂

  8. I have been saying it all along to go for the BPA but Montreal also needs to get bigger at the same time because they have drafted several smaller players in the last few drafts: Caulfield, Farrell, Mesar, RHP, Ylonen, Kidney, all of them could possibly be top 6. I don't think they will take Benson, another small player for their BPA, they will likely go for size if Will Smith is already gone; possibly Ryan Leonard, Dalibor Dvorsky, Colby Barlow or even Oliver Moore who is one of the quickest skaters in the draft…but they could surprise us all with David Reinbacher, a defenseman. As they say, it only takes one team to like you"..!!!

  9. I say you draft Dvorsky even at #5. He's doing great at the U18 World's (got 3 more pts today in his team's 3-2 win over Finns … only 3 pts behind  both Will Smith and Gabe Perreault who have played in a Mickey Mouse division).

There's much to like about Dvorsky. He appears to be a late bloomer … partly due to being one of the younger players in the draft (he's younger than Fantilli by 8 months, Michkov and Carlsson by about 6 months … at his age that's a big deal).

He would probably pump up Slaf better than other draftees beyond Bedard due to a lot of obvious reasons.

  10. Tired of reaches. Just pick the player the central has at 5th overall. They always do a better job than our scouts when it comes to first round picks.

  11. Dvorsky is carrying slovakia in u18 wc. After that germany win he carried slovakia with 1+2 win 3:2 againts finland – top favorite. Watch him today play USA. I knew he was great shot after hlinka gretzky but his overal game is very responsible and his vision is amazing. He has great synergy with mesar and slafkovsky they know each other for years and played together a lot. Dvorsky is best slovak centre after Peter Stastny. Montreal would be the best place for him and montreal would miss him if they dont pick him. Dvorsky is going to be 100+ point player

  12. Dvorsky was regularly rated as top 10, he dropped in the last. But after this performance he will go back to top 10. We might see him play at 23 men´s hockey international, so things might change for him after that again for better or worse.

  13. Do you think they might be focusing right handed shut down defensman – Maxim Strbak with the Florida pick?
He is the most used defensman on the tournament and looks great

    Hutson – Reinbacher/Strbak
    Ghule – Mallioux
    Xhekaj – ?Barron?

    Could be awesome D core

  14. Caution has to be taken evaluating European players, players can easily be overrated due to inconsistency of competition. Playing against (the many) teams that aren't very good, on a big rink, can make a player look better than they are if they're on a decent team.
Dvorsky needs work on his skating, has a good hard shot, can score and has defensive instincts. He's not going to be an elite scorer and on top of that he's another Slaf who will likely require years in the NHL to reach his potential, instant top performance isn't likely.
I disagree with what you said, although Montreal does need an elite scorer to add to their top lines, they also need forwards with good defensive instincts, not just minute burners on the back six. This is an area where they were lacking this past season, especially with a young defense core emerging.
No, they shouldn't use a top 7 pick to get him. Fantilli would be a choice to be effective in both ends of he rink should they have lottery luck. Beck is one forward they already have that should help the defensive forward void and help out a bit offensively too for the back six. Smith would be a choice, if available to pick, who can score, stickhandle, speed, playmaker and defensively reliable.
Unless they luck out and get 1st pick, I expect Hughes and company to lean towards average size or bigger for their top 7 pick.

  15. Dvorsky is really great in protecting the puck and making right plays almost 100% of the time. He is not offensive avalanche, but those really great 2way players are really important in playoffs. Habs have a lot of high ceiling offensive players(Suzuki, Dach,Caufield, Farrell, Kidney, Slafkovsky…) but the only good 2way prospect they have is Beck right now. So if Habs are targeting 2way center who can play at their 2nd/3rd line and move Dach to the first line wing(in my opinion Dach would be better as a wing) they can do it. They won’t be dissapointed, players like Benson are great, but those kids are not defending and there is only so many spots on roster you can fill with these kind of players.

  16. If we fall to 6 or 7 i wouldnt mind Dvorsky. Rather him than Reinbacher. At 5 i would stick with Will. If for some crazy reason Will is gone at#5, definitely go with Carlson or Mitchkov (even better).
