Recap of Kraken vs Avalanche Game Seven

I can honestly say this surprises me more than Florida upsetting the Bruins.

  1. “It should have been LINESMAN, you suck”

That was the perfect troll 😂😂😂

  2. This playoff weekend has been insane. I cannot wait to see what the next round has in store for everyone.

  3. Losing nichuskin after game 2, makar for a game, and cogliano after that abhorrent hit pretty much killed our chances. The corpse of the AVs still got to game 7. Rest and recovery now. Next year will be good.

  4. This result was cemented the second that the Avs beat the Nashville Predators at the end of the regular season to win the Central.

The Central Division winner has lost in the first round in 2014, 2015, 2017, 2019, and now 2023. Had the Avs lost their last game, they would have had an automatic first round bye (Minnesota) rather than facing the Kraken

  5. I was talking with my father about the Avs and i said that it was going to be an uphill climb for them to repeat as champs without their most important player in landeskog. Congrats to the Kraken on a well played game and series.

  6. If New Jersey wins tonight, then that means Edmonton would be the only final four team from last year to survive to round 2. This is nuts!

  7. oh yes the kraken that broke the neck of one of the aves players and no penalty and a team missing half there players now you go play Dallas and get smacked by a real goalie

  8. MacKinnon for one assist is a 3rd star? Seriously? They should give it to Gourde or if you really want somebody from Colorado you could give to Georgiev or Rantanen.

  9. This game reminded me of last year game 7 between Leafs and Lightning. Lots of shotblocking, kind of unexpected hero with 2 goals (Paul and now Bjorkstrand), great goaltending and Gourde who played for Tampa before (not in Leafs-Lightning series of course) now gets 2 assists.

  10. I remember not long ago an Avalanche fan on here said that his team was so dominant that they were "unplayable." Not just unbeatable, but unplayable. They were so good other teams could not even play them. I wonder if he has eaten the crow yet or is saving it for later.

  11. The road-win mayhem in the first round has been glorious. For the first time ever, all the teams I wanted to get through have gone through! (Jets and Knights, I could care less, but I have a soft spot for the Knights for being such a successful expansion).

  12. Congrats to the Kraken, at the end of the day they outplayed us in this series, I hope they can take that same game into Dallas and beat them

  13. Kraken went 3-1 in Colorado. And with the Jets eliminated, the Kraken are the lowest seed. I wonder if Seattle or the NHL will allow a team to have four straight home playoff games?

  14. I'm not even sure how Colorado managed a 1 seed this season. Sure this was an upset but this is not even close to the same roster that won the Cup last year. Add in the amount of injuries they dealt with. No help from depth scoring. Just wasn't meant to be this year and I'm kinda glad they get to rest now rather than beat themselves up more, because they were not winning another Cup this year.

  15. Please don’t reference Steven Glynn. You are so much more entertaining. No need to put yourself on that level. You’re awesome dude.

  16. love your videos, but there is an annoying 'hum' sound that is especially noticeable with headphones.

the sound is almost as bad as it was in your Auston Matthews draft reaction video, although that one had more of a 'ticking' sound.

  17. Crazy playoffs, but it shouldn't be that surprising. The regular season allows teams to beat up on a whole slew of bad teams. But now you're playing the league's best, and required to win 4 against them! And despite the difference in records and talent, the teams are more closely matched than one would want to admit.

  18. Grubauer showed again how a hot goalie can make the difference in the playoffs. Last year with Jordan Binnington standing on his head the St. Louis Blues likely would have beaten the Avs as well in a 7 game series until the Kadri incident. The Blues may have even won the Cup. Many congrats to Seattle. Seattle stayed in the game early and picked it up while Colorado was getting frustrated. Just amazing as an expansion team but a hot goalie takes you a long way. I do not know whether the Boston or Colorado upset loss was the more unlikely. You have a neat rabbit.

  19. So the number one team is out, the Stanley Cup champs are out, the best team over the last four years (Tampa) is out. Obviously, the Leafs will get the cup this year. Time to start watching the Jays again.

  20. That offside was killer for the Avs. It doesn't seem right that play can continue for that amount of time and the attacking team works the butts off to set up a play resulting in a goal, only for all that work to be erased. Offside had nothing to do with that. Maybe they should institute a time limit whereby if the refs haven't picked up the offside it gets wiped. That would mean taking the power away from coaches to challenge, which I'm also in favour of.

  21. I'm a Sabres fan who hasn't paid any attention to hockey since 2013, only came back to watch full time January 2023 so while I do know hockey, I had no biases (didn't even know who won the Cup in the last decade, or even last year) So I chose my picks based on what I saw and felt about the momentum teams were carrying through the last few months of regular season games. So far, all of my picks have been correct, with the exception of the Jets (because as a Sabres fan, I cannot support Eichel winning, I suppose that was my only bias)

I watched Florida destroy nearly every team in their way while chasing a playoff spot alongside my Sabres, a spot I think the Isles didnt deserve. I called the Canes to beat a questionable Isles and the Panthers to beat Boston as well. The Panthers are a dangerous team. I have called NJ to beat NYR, but we will find out tonight if that prediction comes true.

I called the Kraken, because like Florida, they have been playing desperation hockey that much longer to avoid losing their wildcard spot to a surgy Flames, and they did win those games. The Kraken may be new, but they have depth and a well roundedness to them that is good enough to beat anyone. Dallas has firepower and just seems to play higher tier hockey than the Wild(s) (trolling Wild fans) and as a Sabres fan, I have seen the damage they are capable of and the relentlessness of their play (10-4 win over Buff), not to mention a somewhat flat looking MIN team.

Toronto over Tampa, because they are overdue, and didn't get 111 pts in the reg season for nothing. Despite being able to lose to pretty much any team at any time, including my Sabres, when they're on they are on, and Tampa was also taking several poor losses in their final month lead up to the playoffs which must have shaken the confidence.

Oilers over kings because, well do I even need to explain why? Talk about a choke if they were to give that up to a Kings team I find is good but spotty and reliant on key players who are passed their prime. And well, screw Vegas lol, not really though, they play fast and hard hockey with those C3PO helmets, but I wanted the Jets to win based on nothing but personal BS.

I struggle with my picks for round 2 because now I have a bias, I want certain teams to win. I would go nuts for an all Canadian Cup Finals, so that is the intention I will put out there, but I would also love to see Florida and Seattle go deep and believe they have exactly what it takes to do so. So my Cup finals will be TO/Edm OR Fla/Seattle.

  22. Whoever wins the cup cannot be criticized that it wasn’t against the Bruins. It’s a playoff championship, not a regular season championship.

  23. As soon as I heard Cos was out with a neck fracture, I knew in my gut that we were now missing one too many to pull it off. Played a hell of a game, but Gru channeled his inner wall and we couldn't get through. Proud of the team. We weren't getting part the second round with the deck we had been dealt. Not a fan of the guy on Cogs at all, but weirdly happy for Seatle. The playoffs are so brutal, their depth will help them a great deal. And, if Gru keeps it up, who knows…
