Canucks news: JT Miller and Jordie Benn do NOT travel with the team to Edmonton

JT Miller and Jordie Benn did not travel with the Canucks for the season-opener against Edmonton tomorrow night. Miller lives with Benn so if either one of them was exposed to COVID, then the other would be considered a close contact.

They likely won’t be able to join the team mid-trip so we’re looking at a January 20 debut for them (in the home opener) at the earliest.

We’ll know more tomorrow.

  1. Terrible if Benn has gotten it… & would not be too big a surprise in that his commitment to wins/hockey has not seemed that high compared to others.. didn't show for most of playoffs.. etc -mainly there to get a paycheck/feels he has his priorities..
Shame as Miller is the MVP for the team/ most critical player… & very committed… so really important…
Just have to hope it did not happen… Will be tough to compete w/o Miller – 4 games next 7 days !!

  2. How good would Vancouver been if Luc Bourdon did not die. He was going to be better than Letang or Doughty. What If?

  3. This sucks but it's indicative of the kind of life we are living now. Better to be safe than sorry in light of the situation the Dallas Stars are facing with a handful of players/staff testing positive. This thing will run rampant if they don't take the necessary precautions to keep it under control. Hope the rest of the season runs better. Thanks Clay..

  4. It is all fair game in the pandemic age. Health should be the priority and rightfully so. The other teams in the division will run into the same problem during the season; no need to cry the Canucks' blue (or green) this early in the season.

  5. These millionaires should get their own home. How much does it cost to rent a place for 6 months, 1% of their income?

  6. First thing I read was "Miller out for season…" I was freaking out at first lol.

  7. Go Canucks go ! Hoping to catch period 1 of the game from a hotel room tonight !
