2023 NFL Draft Day 2 Recap: Bears add to defense in Rounds 2 and 3



Day 2 of the NFL Draft has ended, and the Bears have bolstered their defense. In the second round, they selected DT Gervon Dexter from Florida at No. 53, and CB Tyrique Stevenson from Miami at No. 56. In the third round, they drafted DT Zacch Pickens from South Carolina at No. 64.     This off season has been very mid since we got DJ Moore. It’s starting to just look like a roster of “guys” no one outstanding but not terrible. Feels kinda of like the Bulls. But I have faith. Fields elevated last year’s squad so maybe we can make some noise

    I want to edit “mid” might be a bit harsh. I’ll go with SAFE

    Which is why LVN was the pick in the 1st, then they could have got Wanya Morris when everyone else was chasing edge rushers.

    I like the picks taken one pick after Dexter and Stevenson better than what they did. Tuli Tuipulotu and John Michael Schmitz would have been my preferences over Dexter / Stevenson. Edge is now weak with McGuire being the only decent remaining Edge left.

    Dexter can play DE as well as DT depending on the situation. He can loose weight or gain it. Personally I think he should get to 295 and play across the defensive line. If he gets there in year one he has the opportunity to play across the board as a secondary defensive lineman

    Not going to lie really surprised and disappointed that JMS from Minnesota wasnt selected with the 56th. Would have nailed down centre position….,. But gotta trust the process

    Poles is asleep at the wheel again I didn't see anything with these pick like I seem with the others teams another losing season again.

    So you go get player you don't know for sure when the player you should have got fell in your hands and you drop the ball this will come back to haunt the bear's you made Philadelphia that much better another losing season that's the theme for this teams no defense you don't win a lot of games.
