I honestly think it’s because Keefe doesn’t have time to spell his last name correctly so he just goes with Holl

Can’t imagine why we’d put our offensive d-men in after Tampa’s old assistant confirms Vasi is very bad at tracking shots from distance.

    #Play your best players

Knies out in Game 1 was the wrong decision. Bunting being out in Game 5 was the wrong decision. Lilly being scratched the whole series was the wrong decision.

Keefe’s making a lot of bad decisions and somehow we’re still up in this series. Holl basically forced his hand with his performance on Thursday, he doesn’t have a choice but to make Holl a 7th D PK specialist or just sit him. Keefe’s stubborness will probably be the end of him in Toronto. You can’t keep banging our head against the wall thinking it’ll be different the next day.

After Holl’s performance how does Lilly not get a shot? If they lose it’s 100% on Keefe and nobody else.

  6. Do we have #s on Liljegren since the TD? I firmly believe he was the straw stirring the Liljegren/Sandin drink, but he didn’t look great. That was no doubt compounded by the roster roulette stuff, and the few games I spot-checked did not favour him analytically like the first half of the season or previous seasons.

At this point, sure, fuck it, why not, but afaik he hadn’t been great down the stretch and that’s probably a big part of why he hasn’t drawn in.

Hey it can’t get much worse. He shits the bed in Game 6 and we still have Game 7 to get an ulcer.

  8. We’re really lucky to be still in this series. Could easily be down 3-2 or worse by now. But for a very forward thinking coaching staff, they still can’t “break up a winning lineup” because what? Bad omens? Mojo? Hockey gods? It’s the playoffs. Ice your best damn lineup and see if they can get it done.

    It’s not the coach

It’s the core players they need to find a way to win.

    It’s those top 5 that are getting 11m ,11m 10.9m, 6.9
    7.5m

They have one more chance to pass the first round (Jesus should be alot more than the first) cuz if it goes to game 7 these guys will fold

Holl is struggling, but why is everyone so sure Liljegren is a better option? His play in the last few months of the season certainly didn’t separate him from the group in any way that would make him demand being in the lineup and that’s exactly the reason he finds himself in the press box. Does Keefe want an upgrade to Holl? heck yeah he does. Is there one available? Probably not.

If Holl plays and subsequently loses Game 6 for us I am going to call Tampa police and get him arrested (for conspiracy to fix the outcome of a sporting event), preventing his return to Toronto for Game 7.

Having Holl and Gio paired up through 5 games is insane to me. Tampa has been exploiting that pairing all series. They either need to swap in Lily for Holl or change up the pairings.

If Lilly isn’t in or Gio takes the fall for Holl I’m done with Keefe. Its all well and fine to play Holl through all the wins in a row you don’t wanna change the lineup, but after that disaster and his performance thus far there is no reason he should be playing. If he wants him for the PK I don’t care Lilly still needs to be in go 11-7 or something

    Three things can be true:

Keefe is being outcoached, including bad roster decisions
    Liljegren isn’t a saviour
We still need more from the rest of the team. Sammy hasn’t been great. Team isn’t starting on time.

Trying to boil this series down to one thing is never going to produce the correct answer for why the favorite team coming in has been outplayed for 4 games.
