The Dallas Stars are now in control of their first round series against the Minnesota Wild after a 4-0 shutout win at the American Airlines Center. Jake Oettinger put on a show saving all 27 shots that came his way. He recorded his 2nd career playoff shutout and is showing no signs of slowing down. Dallas was also the beneficiary of some excellent play on special teams, with 2 power play goals from Tyler Seguin and Jason Robertson. This was a very timely win for the Stars as they now get two days off before they go for the series win in St. Paul.

Taking a 3-2 lead by way of shutout is huge. Let's wrap this us in Minnesota!
The Wild honestly looked like we did in game 3. No fight, no effort, just kinda showed up. Doesn't bode well for them in game 6. I definitely see us closing it out Friday night!

One game moved Oetter into the top 5 goalies in the playoffs. Top four in GAA. But let's give this one to the defense in front of him tonight. Severely limited Minny's breakaway & odd-man game. Trapped at the blue line with stellar stickwork and disruptions, and calm skilled breakouts. It was classic Dallas hockey. Seguin is my MVP so far. We knew Oetter would be good; we did NOT know Seguin would be this good.
We didn’t know how much Tyler Seguin would step up to fill the void left by Joe Pavelski. I believe he has 4 power play goals in the last five games. Otter has his 5th shutout of the season, 4 of them in the regular season, 1 in the post season. The aggressive play of the Wild is working against them. Will they be able to close the door in St Paul Minnesota?? Will Joe Pavelski be healthy enough to play in game 6?? The power play and penalty kill have been good all season long. It’s very hard to close a team out on their home ice 🧊.
Hope we bring the same energy game 6, It’s gonna be tough to close it out in their barn but if we are locked in we can wrap it up in Minnesota, Otter was awesome for us tonight!! Let’s Go Stars!!
I honestly think that was not really worth the 5 min major, and definitely not worth the game misconduct. That was a retaliation based on the comments he made after game 4. I know he made contact with the leg but that was just because how the puck came down to his back side. Just what I think. Officiating is creating problems.

I’m ready for the full on excoriation but… Suter has been playing really well. It’s either him or Miro glued to Kaprisov, and you see the score sheet because of their efforts.

I say bring pav let him get a few minutes in game 6 and a few more in game 7 if there is one but keep him mostly rested for series 2 but keeping him somewhat warm
