Mony Mony…there must be something with originally 60s songs with titles like that. So many people heard The Kingsmen version of Louie Louie as obscene the FBI investigated 😂
McDavid’s 3 even strength points in 5 games is indicative of how much the Kings are focused on him. They have two of the best defensive forwards in the league. But they can’t shut down both McDavid and Draisaitl, especially on the powerplay.
I’m not sure which team is going to stop the Oilers. I picked Vegas, Colorado and Minnesota to get through to round two – I doubt any of these, or Dallas, will be able to stop him.
I’m a Detroit fan but this year I started closely following the oilers because I respect mcdavids skill so much. Now I’m just straight up an oiler fan. Such a fun team to watch, I hope they destroy LA game 6.
Kane's pp goal was the 1st pp goal scored by the second unit all season. Incredible stat considering Oilers have a historic pp %. They're so good the second unit doesn't get many opportunities. Also the 1st unit usually out there for the full 2 minutes when the pp fails to get the job done.

Fifth Game. This was a snoberknocker in a way (please GOD don't ask me to define that). It was a fight but the Oilers got more done in fewer shots. A lot of hits this game. The Oilers only took one penalty (but drew 3 and converted on 2 of the PP's) and yes I'm not counting the double 10 minute majors by Foegelle and Danault, in my mind the Oilers won that one as a star for the Kings went out and a 3rd liner for us went out, huge difference. Depth shone through this game with goals by Kulak and two by Bjugstad for half of the total. The other 3 were Kane, Hyman, and Draisaitl (and two of those were on the PP including a rare goal by the 2nd PP squad). At the end of the first period it was 3-2 with LA getting 2 later in the period goals. Oilers had a great first period. They were the only team to score in the second period and traded one in the third period. This was a blow-out in some ways but for 20 minutes it wasn't too far from being all tied up and if LA had a better second period it could have been another OT waiting to happen but the Oilers just shut it down. Skinner had a few iffy moments in the first period but did well after that. Nurse went beast mode a few times that I was able to catch and got 2 assists for his efforts (plus 5 HITS and 5 BLOCKS, that is a DARNED GOOD NIGHT OF WORK). His normal partner had a great night too with 4 hits and 5 blocks for Ceci. Kulak may be steady eddy on D but he is fast and he can and does contribute on O. Bjugstad took advantage. I thought the second goal was actually Hyman's but Bjugstad got the backhander in before Hyman crashed the net (off of it's moorings). It was fully in otherwise that would have been one less. Great game, not like some that seem to have all of pace of two dead guys trying to run a marathon. There just isn't a lot of motion there. Desharnais played over 15 minutes again so last game was an off night. Broberg played over 8 minutes so he wasn't a "token" 7 D. Tonight the D really showed to me. It wasn't perfect but it was pretty good. Take care all.

The 6th Oiler goal was later credited to Bjugstad as it bounced off the defender's skate and not Hyman's.

What do Kings fans expect!? They did more acting than Will Ferrell with all of those dives, and then wonder why the refs stopped calling penalties on the Oilers!? This always happens, refs have access to post game camera angles as well, when they see they got duped by a diver they will not call penalties on those players as much after.
As a kings fan not looking good hope it goes to a game seven but highly unlikely the way the oilers are playing unstoppable power play now scoring 5 on 5 they are loaded could win the cup this year

Leave Korpi in everybody said. He's been clutch everybody said. How did that age? Copley deserved a chance to at least start. But I still think having 2 career backups going into the playoffs was a mistake. One that Rob Blake MUST own. Regardless of his struggles, Quick would have been a massive improvement because of his playoff pedigree. Man if only that clown Blake didn't trade him.

The blown lead and OT loss followed the Kings over to game 5. It was clearly in their head and they played one of their worst games of the year. Better come up with a better effort in game 6.

LA is in trouble unless they can fix their PK and do it fast. Oilers power play is winning this series.
The Kings are just playing way too passive. The Oilers have adjusted to the Kings play, and the Kings haven't adjusted in turn. Their PK is awful, they just sit there and let the Oilers move the puck around and walk into high scoring areas. The Kings need to pressure more on both ends of the ice, and I HOPE these three days off let them really regroup and adjust their play. Hopefully being put up for elimination will also wake them up, and make them play to WIN rather than just playing to survive. They can't be passive like this game again. They will lose if they do.
Oilers aren't playing their best and neither are the Kings. That being said, the Oilers at their best are a league above the Kings.

Oilers not taking penalties have been critical the last 6 periods. LA is a soft team and they play counting on the PP to make up the difference. Weak sauce.

Feels like LA losing that 3-0 lead last game may have completely flipped the momentum of the series . As soon as I saw they had lost that last game I was like .. uh oh. Here comes Edmonton. Hoping LA forces game 7 this series deserves to go 7. Been an extremely close series. 3 out of 5 games have gone to OT. Nuts .

LA Kings fan here, I think this series has been good for the most part but honestly this last game was expected to lose like this they got all the momentum from the Game 4 comeback win. Unfortunately, I just don't think my Kings got enough left in the tank unfortunately. But I will say I think it's absolutely ridiculous McDavid and Draisaitl and Kane rarely get called for any dirty crap they pull and yet it makes sense cause McDavid is who he is but at least make it fair, but Oilers fans wanna complain about Game 1 but when it's vice versa they could careless just my opinion. But I mean not for nothing I thought my Kings were gonna win Game 4 but clearly didn't happen that's the game that's gonna haunt us now can't give up 3 unanswered and then take lead and not hold onto it with less than 3 mins to go lock down defense than Kane scores just was ridiculous personally but that's my view. I'm sure I'm gonna get hate but I could careless clearly they favour star players like McDavid and Draisaitl the whole damn league and media does especially TBS and ESPN.
