Vasi was so sharp last year. Hopefully he can find his groove on Thursday

  2. TittyTasslesAndTacos

Sounds like he’s due for a big game

Very strange. I know our defense hasn’t been the best but this is still pretty surprising. Even when we would play shitty he would bail us out and stand on his head. I haven’t seen that in a while.

    What’s up the Big Cat?

Even if goals were his fault, which I’m not saying they are, this man deserves some grace. He carried our ass for 3 years. People turn their backs so quickly

He’s played a lot of hockey the last 4 years. Was telling my dad this a few months ago, but I don’t think an early exit is the worst thing for the long term health of the core of this team. They need a break.

It sucks to see this but it’s not surprising either. I hope that this is just an off year for Vasy and not the beginning of a decline. He’s still super young so he should have a lot of good years left in him. Maybe he just needs a break, I don’t know.

  7. Defense has been banged up + missed on the free agent signings last year + have some guys that need more experience in general or in their role on the team. Then you have to consider big cat hasn’t had much rest and its really just not a good combo. Concerning for this playoff run? Absolutely. Concerning for the future? Not really.

Team will be closer to its old self next year and Vasilevskiy will be leading the charge

You can’t look at this in a vacuum. Losing our second best defenseman to a cheap shot in game one when we don’t have much depth will absolutely leave your goalie out to dry.

He hasn’t been sharp, but there have been several goals that come down to our defensemen getting bodied in front of the net.

What a terrible day to have eyes. Big Cat is tired :/

He hasn’t been good, but it doesn’t help that our defense hasn’t been great either.

I don’t blame him for the past two losses. The team outplayed Toronto in both, but failed to finish at critical times and completely collapsed at the end of both games. The series could easily be 3-1 the other way had the team simply stayed competent for an entire third period.

I’m not a sugar-coating stan of the Big Cat, but asking a player to be the greatest every season is unrealistic. Players have good, great, better, and “seen better” seasons. Vasy is no different. A team is a team though – and as a team, there have been holes in every position.

He has family fighting a war… just saying…

One of the few reasons I don’t mind losing, give the guys an honest off season rest and see how they look next year.

  14. If any team can lose 3 in a row in embarrassing fashion it’s either the Leafs or my Panthers. I think y’all can still make it a series tbh

Is he back in net Thursday for the next loss ?
