That's awesome, I find it empowering as a fan to know the strategies that the teams are employing! I wish more of this information was public.
I recall Brett Hull, when he was with Detroit Red Wings, was asked about current teammate Dominek Hasek and if Brett would give insights to Olympic Team USA teammates on how to beat Hasek. He said hell no. He was also trying to win the Stanley Cup so no, he wasn't giving temporary teammates cheats to beat his goalie.

It's not a secret. The information is out there to analyze. Every game is televised, so if you have good enough analysts, you could figure this out. That's why an NDA wouldn't be enforceable for this.
While its funny that it was said, this is just info to the fans. The league knows this, and if they dont they need better people looking at team reviews. When you go deep in the playoffs, your goalie will be the first thing exposed. Matt Murray is the biggest example. After a few years of deep runs and some cups, he was picked apart for his high glove. Sure he had other issues that played into his crumbling performance, but teams knew where to put the puck and theres nothing he could do about it. Became a guessing game of "do i over compensate for my weak glove or hope they think im expecting it" and at that point you cant play focused anymore.
I would say it's a bad thing… but teams already have this info… this was just news for the mainstream people….

Thats how most playoff goals are scored. Get to the front of the net, block the goalie's vision, deflection, dont give him time to adjuist.

long-time HNIC viewer and I love Newsy's analysis. This factoid was known amongst the teams, so as you say, Lalonde sharing it was great for fans, and explained a lot about this series. So many point shots finding the back of the Tampa net.
