    ### On Goalies

    > My early sense is that the Sabres won’t feel desperate to add a goalie this offseason but will consider it for the right fit. A lot of Buffalo’s inactivity at goalie over the last 12 months was about making sure Levi would sign. Now that he’s signed, they can explore a better veteran.

    ### On trading Mittelstadt

    > He’s a restricted free agent after next season, so they don’t need to do anything right away. Should they gamble on a contract extension based off of the way Mittelstadt finished the season or do they wait and see if he can repeat it? My sense is it would take a heck of a deal for the Sabres to consider trading him, but he has become more attractive to other teams in the last few months.

    ### On the partner for Power

    > Radko Gudas

    > His fit on the ice is ideal. Gudas is the type of experienced, physical defenseman who would bring a different element to Buffalo’s blue line. It’s not just about hits, either. He’s simply not fun for opposing players to deal with in front of the net. That’s something the Sabres need, especially with a young goalie.

    ### On grit

    > Riley Stillman and Jordan Greenway were added for this. I don’t expect Adams to go over the top in trying to address this, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see them fill out the bottom six with a few grittier players. 👀

    ### Next to breakout

    Quinn

On grit: I don’t think this is the year to chase grit at forward with the likelihood that Girgs and Okposo are on the team again, but that’s something that absolutely will be a big consideration next offseason in the bottom 6 and the 3rd pair

I’d be interested in seeing a Stillman – Boosh 3rd pair and yeeting Jokiharju as part of a trade to upgrade the top 4. Stillman had very good results in a small role and those 2 would be a tough pair to play against

Cozens already broke out this season so Quinn is the most logical choice, then Levi or Power imo. Peterka and Krebs maybe as darkhorses and Kulich as a spicy choice. All depends on how they define breaking out though because Tage had a bigger break out last season and Dahlin was our biggest breakout player this year. Dahlin developed into a Norris caliber player this year.

I could see Krebs having a breakout year. I don’t know if anyone can match what Tage has done, but I can see him being really productive with the right line mates. his skills have always been there, and this season I saw a gritty side to him. Like Tage, if we could see him put on 20 lbs of muscle, he would be hard to stop.

Whoo-hoo! Im famous, they included my question about which times they could jump next season to make the playoffs. (Im Ric R.)

Peterka, has the speed but hasn’t had it completely translate to getting space in the NHL. God I love that we have options on who can breakout.

    Cozens already semi broke out.

The real potential breakout is if we leave mitts in the top 6 with skinner. Those two make sweet sweet magic together. Like Tage and Tuch do.

I’d like to see us mix it up a bit and do something like

    skinner mitts Quinn

    Tage/Cozens Cozens/tage Tuch

    Breakout candidates:

    – Quinn, but that’s maybe a little too obvious
    – Krebs feels like a right answer
    – Joker is the dark horse candidate, imho
