Everybody but ghule, matheson and savard should be on the chopping block, i like harris allot and think he should stay but fir the right price i dont think habs would think twice about it😊

Wideman is a budget defense extra, willing to get "in you face", doesn't complain being the extra but takes too many penalties when he does play lol.

Maybe just Edmundson moved and Xhekaj starts in Laval until injuries gets him called up.
Imagine Xhekaj and Mailloux terrorizing the AHL lol. Or do the give Mailloux the chance to prove he's NHL ready? If Eddy, Barron, Harris were all moved then I'd expect that.
Who knows what Dr Evil's plans are? LOL I'm just throwing sht out there.
I tend to think no one else outside of that would be moved….defense wise.
The suspense is killing me and I'm going through hockey withdrawal already. Don't care for the playoffs much/watching other teams play, just would like to see Canadian teams do well.

Wideman is great for leadership, he’ll defend his teammates to the death and never bitch when he’s not playin, he’s dirt cheap and right handed defenseman , I would also keep wideman. Love mathesson .Guhle and xhekaj aren’t going anywhere , Savard either as the habs wouldn’t receive what he’s actually worth in a trade he’s also hard working and great example for the kids. So if someone goes it’ll be between Harris , Ed and kovacevik

We have a good group of youngsters! Something tells me they keep Savard woth Matheson! And they trade Harris because he’s small but yet this guy is smart and effective! As usual Junkie your analysis is spot on. Joel might be a great guy and a good leader but he has to go (injury prone). Hopefully Kent will find a good home for him. I like your D lines for next season (maybe because I was thinking the same) if the youth movement and slow development is the plan Gorton and Hughes set for the future then now is the time to make moves towards that. I like the core group we got to see this year and I'm excited for the future of this team. I was impressed with Marty's first year as head coach too.
Who do you want from Buffalo for Xhekaj?
I'd say Savard and Edmundson play the same role of shutdown with not a ton of offensive upside and veteran leadership. I'd pick a healthy Edmondson over Savard, but that doesn't seem to be a thing in this dimension so I guess of the two, it's Eddie that has to go. Sad because I think he is the better mentor for our up and comers
The obvious for me is Edmunson and Barron with the latter being part of a package to Winnipeg for PLD to join his brother.
Edmundson , Wideman, Hoffman, armia, gallagar, pitlick, Evans ,Allen, Dvorak, should all be moved.
if you cant buy him out and you cant trade him.
you put him on ir and dont worry aboot it….nobody wants to trade for players that are hurt and make big money,unless you package a player like harris in the deal to take the money off your books.

Edmundson gets traded, and either Barron or Harris get traded. If there is truly a PLD trade coming, one of Barron or Harris is going back the other way as part of that trade. (Dvorak, Harris/Barron, Mysak, FLA 1st for PLD?)

Still think Honda Civic needs to become Mr Extra, and Wideman could carry sticks around or something and get dressed only if we need to replace Mr Extra.
Matheson and Savard aren't going anywhere. Ghule was our best defenseman before he injured himself. Harris is like Josh Gorges. Not a star, but a guy that does everything right. Xhekaj is Xhekaj, and I can't see the Habs telling Barron to go wait it out again in Laval. So we either say goodbye to Wideman, or keep 8 guys on the roster.
44 was a liability. I’d much rather see a young mobile guy in the lineup.

I absolutely agree with everything, especially Wideman. He's a pro and keeps his mouth shut when he is sat out and they all like him. Plus, he could be sent down and brought up – nobody will take him off waivers. I also think Harris could be moved because Guhle & Wifi are untouchable and teams are unlikely to want Barron as much. i.e. depending on how bad Hughes wants to make a deal he'll probably have to say yes to giving him up.
I bet you everyone who has watched this video has once said to themselves, "I don't think I need this anymore. I'll get rid of it to make space." And guess what? 2 weeks after they got rid of it, they needed it.. This won't be a popular opinion, but after the Habs played a game this season with 5 rookie defensemen, I don't see Kent being too eager to start trading defensemen away. I can see why you might see Edmundson traded in the summer but my gut tells me they hang on to as many defensemen has possible in case there are injuries again this season. I think there's more chances to see Edmundson get traded before the deadline if they have a healthy line-up and not making the play-off. "IF" they are making the play-offs, I think they will keep Edmundson.
I personally would rather trade Edmundson than every other D on the Habs other than Wideman but I can also see Harris get moved. And it's not because he's bad. On the contrary, he's got value. His only issue is the only player I see who plays a similar role is Guhle and Guhle is just better than Harris.
Just to be clear, I like Harris and would be happy if he stays. Unfortunately, it's a number game and there are only so many spots you can fill.
Agree its Edmundson. Disagree on his value. I think we can get a good pick or two in return in the offseason.
