Kent Hughes and the Habs must not use their top 7 pick to select Dalibor Dvorsky. This would be a HUGE mistake and would affect the future of the organization for years.
If Michkov is available at 5, 6 or 7, I understand we take the best available. If Habs picks another European player with 12 points in unknown league at #5, I am done with this team. I am still so mad today we didn't take Logan Cooley instead of taking Slafvoski with 10 points in his whatever league. We should've fired our scouts wasting our top picks on KK, Mailloux, Slafkovski or Mesar.
Man cut slaf some slack, he comes in this at the start of the season playing with Gallagher and Dvorak… bruh, its not like he's got tons of talent around him, plus he's only 18 man takes a couple years to get to prime compete level, can't just write a guy off cause his name isn't as flashy as Cooley
He’s slow as fuck, it was cringe worthy at the junior, this guy shouldn’t even be to 20. 4 goals over Germany doesn’t mean shit. We just drafted two horrible Slovaks . The habs will not pick him unless he falls to the Florida pick
The top 6 or 7 players look awesome , smith , Reinbacher , Michkov , carlsson, fantilli , one of these guys will be available at 5th and 6th overall which is crazy , Montréal should really try to aquire the 6th overall
If Dvorsky is there for Montreal with the Florida1ST ROUND pick that the HABS acquired snag him then . That would be quite nice .The HABS could have a killer Slovak line with Mesar on it with Slafkovsky.
What is actually wrong with Dvorsky though? In a way, I am sorta hoping the Habs do draft him because when you look at the top 10 and even top 20 the vast majority of the players are seriously underweight for their height. It sucks because there seems to be a major lack of guys with talent and size in this draft. Other than Carlsson, Dvorsky and a guy around 17-18th they are all fairly small. If most of them were capable of gaining 15+ lbs they would be heavier than they currently are. The Habs already have enough small players but at least they have decent weight for their height. Even without considering the Russian aspect, I'd likely pass on Michkov because he's only 160 lbs and will probably be injured a lot.
If Dvorsky would Play in canadian junior league he would have minimum 100 points playing against man is 10 times harder than playing against kids so now he proved that he can dominate at the junior level he is top 10 minimum
the Canadians are a mistake. as bad as the maple leafs history is…..the habs are a disgrace… i grew up in Montreal during the 70s. how is it possible that this organisation can fall so far down? the whole NHL is rigged against Canadian teams
Buddy, there is no way this guy is available at 17… He's a solidified top 10 pick for me, and in most of the rankings that seems to be the case too. Also I think comparing Slafkovsky with Dvorsky is a bit pointless as they are completely different types of players. Yes, there is huge amount of talent available in this year's draft, especially around the positions Canadiens will select, but I've been watching Dvorsky's game for a few years now and that guy's a real deal!

Dvorsky isn’t going top ten
Michkov would be crazy with dach
shouldn't you have Colby Barlow in the 5 to 8 slot ?

I got Montreal trading Florida's first round pick to Winnipeg for PLD. Winnipeg has NO LEVERAGE.
Because of that, I have
RHP/Dach/PLD/Suzuki-PLD/Suzuki-Caufield
Dach/PLD- PLD/Dach- Slafkovsky/Anderson
Slafkovsky/RHP-Dvorak-Gallagher
Pezzetta-Evans-Belzile/Armia
I want Colby Barlow
If we’re picking at 5, Will Smith had to be the pick

Agreed, I even think Slaf was not a good pick for Habs, time will tell but nothing impressive so far IMO.

Finally someone says it. I toi am scared of this guy being mtl's pick
That was bad.
