I guess it makes sense it's not a boarding call and would be a weak interference call in playoff hockey, but with the Rielly/Point incident, isn't that the exact reason they took away touch icing? Two guys skating full speed and battling heading towards the boards. Just needed a little push for a big crash. Not super dirty from Rielly I guess, but I think that should be it's own type of penalty. Not a conversation for playoffs though
Stamkos needed an instigator penalty there, don’t understand how you can jump a guy who’s cleaning up sticks and end up taking him off the ice for 5 minutes
Is the nhl gonna talk about Toronto deliberately trying to injure Tampa’s top players. Maybe Tampa needs to give Toronto a taste of their own medicine an start running their top players.

7:20 I'm quite certain that Keefe was mad that there wasn't an extra instigator penalty on Stamkos. Matthews was picking up sticks at the time Stamkos just started to throw hands. Totally uncalled for. Matthews didn't even have enough time to think about taking his own gloves off.

Pretty sure Keefe was arguing about Stamkos getting nothing. Stammer knows they are getting 2 for Kuch roughing Reilly there, so in classic playoff fashion, he knows that he can do whatever he wants and get away with it because the refs won't call 2 penalties on Tampa…. so he finds Matthews, who has 3 sticks in his hands cleaning up, and grabs him and basically starts throwing punches at him to goad him into a fight and take him off the ice for 5+ minutes. Its blatant manipulation of the refs and is basically textbook instigating…. how they didn't give him 2 for that I'll never understand…. league is a joke.
Going to show my age. But the game winning goal reminded me of the Bob Baun goal, that helped the Maple Leafs win the Stanley cup in 1967. What made the Baun's goal so memorable is he did it on a broken leg. It cost the Red Wings the cup that season. Maybe a sign the Leafs will get past the first round this season.

What do you mean you don’t know what Keefe was mad about, Stamkos mugged Matthews, he had to defend himself, he deserved an extra two, should of been 5 on 3 all day, but of course the Refs are gutless and would never put Tampa down 2 players.

As a Leafs fan. Am I allowed to say even though we are winning, that this is the best series i have ever seen. Game 3 is a game even our GF's get into and become fans themselves. ROR is a BEAST. It's like Gilmour is back in the lineup. Tampa is a bunch of mean ass bullies when they lose, and I don't hate, that's playoff hockey. Refs got it right, unfortunate and no one wants to see but that wasn't a penalty on Reilly. The goal called back tho? It's playoffs that's a goal. If it wasn't a lose puck it doesn't go in the net. I dunno I'll take it but that's a goal. Matthews throwing hands, was a beautiful site. Now play Simmonds and tell him to break Stamkos nose. This is why even if I could skate, I couldn't play. CSI cops would have been on that ice all night long, Cheap, sore ass losers, bullies. Play Sims and order him to throw hands till he is booted from game. WHAT A GAME WHAT A SPORT. As a Leafs fan i will admit. The hockey gods were chanting LET'S GO LEAFS all night long. No wait that was The Rock. That game was stolen. GLG!

Keefe was upset because it should have been a five on three. You have an instigator on Reilly and an instigator on Matthews who wasn't even ready before the dirty player stamkos started punching him. Not sure how you missed all that.
Knowing the lightning and vasilevskiy they will most likely come back to win game 4! Then it's up for grabs again 🙂

Leafs were outplayed and, like VGK, got a fluke OT goal, but who cares? I'd rather play bad and win than lose in any way.

The reason Keefe was upset after that brawl was because Stamkos instigated that “fight” with Matthews, throwing punches before he could do anything. Should have been an extra 2 for him

puck was not loose. but that's okay. just ask urself one question. if the puck was loose why did it take point 2 pokes at it. he clearly could see it. so if the puck was loose wouldn't it of gone in the first poke. I wonder what was stopping the puck from moving the first poke. that's what I ask.
this game was a joke for NHL officiating, Bolts should've won in regulation. I said what I said. Roast me if you want to.

It was Knies FIRST NHL PLAYOFF POINT. He had already accumulated his first NHL regular season point against Tampa Bay towards the end of the regular season on a goal by OReilly which was almost his goal. OReilly had to make sure Knie's shot crossed the goal line.
TO as a team has to play better. There was some luck in this win. They can't let Tampa dominate them again like in this game and expect to win the next. They have to up their game to at least match Tampa's effort.
