Should the Canadiens re-sign Sean Monahan? | HI/O Bonus

  1. Too bad for Monahan so many injuries wow, will he ever recover? Maybe he'll take the summer to heal and come back but i doubt it. They will let him go for someone with talent a young player,

  2. Hughes should make him a one year offer. I'd love to see him back with the Habs next year. Worth the risk IMO.

  3. Definitely a one year deal,if he is in shape and ready to play by the draft otherwise let him walk.

  4. I really think this is the time to cut him loose and bring somebody else in who hasn't had 7 surgeries…..too much downside

  5. (Sorry, don't know these guys' names) Top right guy (head shaved) and I think most alike. Monahan says he's like to return to Montreal. If they get a good deal for a year, do it, the rebuild isn't finished next season anyways. If he ends up LTIR again, doesn't hurt the cap and someone from Laval gets some NHL experience. In the dressing room, on the ice, he's another "leader" type player that's good for the young guys. Question is, if he wants to stay, is he willing to accept a "budget" offer is or does more money take him elsewhere. If he goes for money and that team is willing to take the risk then so be it. All depends too, on their UFA's, RFA's and other available FA's. Hughes will weigh his options and do what is best for the team when the time comes. I'd guess it's not out of the question to re-sign him but there could be a better option.
Gallagher has been banged up over the years too but looked decent in that short end of season return.
These guy's have to stop playing while injured, doesn't do the team or themselves any good.

  6. Time to develop the next generation. He may help the Habs compete next year but developing the young guys is still the long term goal

  7. I like Monahan BUT Montreal have two important injured plaeyrs as is with Price and Galagar, another injured player cannot help Montreal unless he heals in time for the next training camp?
I would like to see him in Mtl only condition if he is healthy. Otherwisse the risk is too high for the habs to take.Habs need experienced players on the ice not only in the dressing room.

  8. Too early to make a hypothetical opinion . He is a great person so Kent will likely ask him what he thinks is fair for one year then go from there ..I expect him back actually as he has a chance to continue his career ; Sean is not near over the hill !

  9. You still need some veteran presence. He has had bad injuries but if you sign him at league minimum what have you got to loose.
