I love the call out. I know on the Twitter post, they showed the Wild had 4 embellishments over the year.
JEE – getting punched in the face away from the play – 2 minutes for embellishment
Foligno – can openered – 2 minutes for embellishment
Zuccarello – can openered – 2 minutes for embellishment
Hartman – hooked down away from the play – 2 minutes for embellishment
This call is hardly ever made correctly, and that’s the issue. It is such a judgement call that it’s probably only called correctly a couple times for every 100 times it happens.
Benn, Domi, and Marchmant all had egregious dives. That’s what Dean is referring to. The Stars dive and don’t get called.
At the end of the year, the list of players who got called for it is going to be a mix of players who play hard and are constantly drawing calls, and the refs screw 1 up on them. And a handful of players, like Marchmant, Kadri, Domi, Cousins, Benn.. who actually are just divers.
