Happy Wednesday! We’re still rocking and rolling here and Hunter starts the show by discussing the main reason why the Pittsburgh Penguins just couldn’t get it going this season. He looks at how the Jekyll & Hyde aspect was too much to overcome and why it felt like the Penguins would get up for some games but also decide to not fully play in other games. After that, he dives into the finishing problem that the Penguins had and why a good chunk of it comes down to poor roster construction. Even so, he looks at how there was a stark difference between the top six and the rest of the lineup. Hunter pleads for the new management to add more pure finishers to the lineup so that they can take the pressure off the core players next season while also making an argument for the defensive core to be more involved next season. Finally, Hunter looks at why the Penguins could never get a timely save when they needed to from their goalies and why that really doomed them as the season went on. Hunter how will the Pens retool or rebuild?
I'd expect them to try trading DeSmith, after they resign Jarry, or, getting someone else to push Jarry and send DeSmith to WBS for more development. They need to look at their goaltending coaches at all levels of the organization.
Watching the Kraken play the Avs, you can see the finger prints of Francis all over that team. Pretty smart play, very mindful on defense. Francis did a great job building that franchise, including getting a coach to fit the players he had, and players to match the coach. Watching the Kraken defenders do the little things, in their own end, like positioning their feet so that, if the puck hit them, it deflected into the corner, instead of at the net.
Our defenders use their sticks to block shots, deflecting them into the net behind Jarry and DeSmith.

I saw Evan Rodrigues is a UFA this summer, do you maybe try to see if you can bring back ERod if he doesn't resign in Colorado?
The main 3 things i would like to see is petry Carter and granlund gone. That’s three things.
Maybe the Pens were the Habs, Blackhawks and Wings to the Avs and Lightning lol. I've been an avid Pens fan since like 1990, and this is what of the most disappointing seasons I've witnessed (at least since the Dick Tarnstrom days!)
Even Brian Boyle had double digit goals last year!
What do you think about the Penguins signing Adin Hill from VGK as a backup assuming they trade DeSmith? He put up good numbers of 2.45 GAA, .915% in 27 games
