Watch as Edmonton Oilers forward Derek Ryan deflects a point shot into the Los Angeles Kings net to score in overtime, but after a video review the goal is overturned as the deflection was deemed to be a high stick.

    This was a good call but that penalty was bs. I’ve never seen a call that soft in overtime. Dude gets taken down and the guy trips over his stick away from the play. How do you call that in overtime?

    I mean anybody that claims this is a goal… what. But at the same time I understand the frustration with the OT penalty. That was a joke for a Playoff Game. Good thing my Team isn't even in the Playoffs because that Penalty call would have made me mad. 😅

    After the soft call for the 1st oilers pp and then the well-deserved 5:3 i thought, the refs are ok.
    Gary obviously didn't like the result midway through 3rd period and made the call.

    See, I get that its the right call but, why is that rule even a thing, if your allowed to have your stick that high without touching the puck why is it that when you do touch it then its not allowed 😛

    Majority of oilers fans can't just admit that the oilers lost because of their lack of discipline .. clear penalties that had to be called, not the refs fault , just bad penalties to take

    I'm a Habs fan so I have no skin in this game. We supposedly want more goals in hockey but disallow goals like this. The crossbar/high stick rule needs to go. As long as you don't hit anyone in the process of scoring a "high stick" goal, it should count.

    Oilers defence played terrible on the last two Kings goals. Nurse was playing goalie for the OT winner. He’s useless.
